You see, i can understand this. This is the turf on which this debate should be held. Not on the criminalising of it.

Obviously i disagree with your rant. It's not up to you alone to shape how others see the club.

Pointless trying to engage them on this Dev.

It's an agenda, not a love of football that drives them.

    Here's Celtic's Mission Statement.

Celtic Football Club was founded in 1888. Its principal founder was a Marist Brother named Walfrid. The Club had two principal aims: The first aim was to raise funds to provide food for the poor of the East End of Glasgow, an area of the City that was greatly impoverished and had a high rate of infant mortality. Within the East End was a large Irish community and friction was growing between the native Glaswegians and the new influx of Irish. Brother Walfrid saw the need for social integration and his vision was a football club that Scottish and Irish, Protestants and Catholics alike could support. A new football club would be a vehicle to bring the communities together and this was the second aim.

Who is Celtic Football Club for?
Celtic Football Club is for people who want to support a football club that strives for excellence in Scotland and in Europe, is proud of its history, supportive of its local community and seeks to support the following aims: "To maximise all opportunities to disassociate the Club from sectarianism and bigotry of any kind. To promote Celtic as a Club for all people, regardless of gender, age, religion, race or ability."

<laugh> My rant? Shaping how other see the club?

Aye, heaven forbid I suggest most people see it as a FOOTBALL club and not some vehicle to drive their political and social agendas that are mired in victimhood <ok>

    I get this too.

But I have to say for a long time people have been saying maybe it should stop....and it had decreased IMO.....however its crept back in

The people in power look at it as requests to stop arent working lets come down harder on them

The legislation has been that attempt. Its a poor piece probably rushed together off the back of the shame game IMO (although not sure the shame game was that bad). Some organisations may be using the legislation to get at the Celtic support, some may not understand it and the result is sections of the Celtic support are being got at unfairly.

But maybe some sections of the Celtic support need to be the bigger people and cut it out. If the police and others then continue to come at them I think there would be more support from other fans for those being "targeted"

at the minute a large section of the support have no sympathy for the targets as by and large the reported acts they are targeted for are not things the majority want at games.

You will no doubt say why should the minority accept a reduction on their freedom to do what they want.....but well there has to be some line and some rules in place i feel.

There are a million platforms for this stuff, Celtic football club should not be one of them.

The image of the club has always been really important to me, and I cant see how singing these songs will help that.

I wonder what the people who live in countries with streets named after Robert Sands think when they hear our fans sing songs about Robert Sands

You think the people of Scotland would not care?

You should get out more, meet people, maybe learn something.
