We've only missed one week this season. We arrange friendlies or do training. We had enough to play a full game amongst ourselves the other week. Been fortunate with the weather. Its not been great but managed to play although we had to play on astro other week.
Out on the road bike today, bashed out just under 40 miles. Weather was actually sunny for most of it, haven't been keen to go out with so much rain and standing water around, bit dangerous I reckon. Also makes you and the bike terrifically filthy. Nearly spring though lads!
Specialized Tarmac, basic 2012 model but full carbon, got it in the sale a couple of years ago, can normally get good deals that way. Going to upgrade the group set soon from Tiagra to 105/Ultegra/Dura Ace mix (depending on cost) or Sram. Running Mavic Cosmic Elite wheels at the mo, slight aero advantage but rather heavy, need changing too. It's like this one but I put on white saddle and bar tape. You ride?
I nearly went for a Specialized, I got this in November. GT series 4. Everything is standard but it's a very nice ride. I had a Merida Speeder T3 before and this is head and shoulders above it in ride and performance. Edit :won't let me upload from phone.
Used to have a GT MTB, was a great bike. The Specialized is a lovely frame, nice and stiff, responsive handling and good value long term as it's an S-Works/SL frame but just not the latest and greatest, if I went back in time I might go for something a bit more distinctive instead, de Rosa, Colnago and Van Nicholas spring to mind, European made, but the good thing with a big brand like Spesh is there are always parts available.
If there's not a ****ing, bastard thread for this pushrod cobblers, there ****ing should be. Deal with it
First two of four funerals today. Can only get to one or the other today though. It will be strange; nots of sad feelings but also expecting a lot of people talking about our newbie since I've not seen the majority of them yet.
Looks like you're taking over where I left off on the funeral front! Sorry to hear the sad news, mate.
Cheers pal. Not sure if I mentioned it on here at the time. All in the space of five days. Two are neighbours (one of todays (the one I can't get to) but knew him to say hi really), one was the treasurer at work (todays I am going to) and the other is the mrs' (not married) five week old neice. As I've said before, I work for a charity and manage the accounts so I work with the treasurer a lot but dreading the neice the most.
Don't know the proper name (would if you said it though) but it was water on the brain. Also had a hole in her heart, stomach was on her side meaning one lung was useless but the other was oversized to compensate. She was doing well in hospital though. She died from a bleed of the heart when trying to resussitate (sp) her after she pulled her oxygen cord out.
****ing hell man thats so sad She was doing well as well. Poor little girl, thats just the saddest thing ever, dont really know what to say Hows the mother? How do you cope with something like that
Mother is surprisingly well. She insisted on holding our newbie yesterday too. We suspect its not sunk in yet. I think it will hit her next Monday (funeral). One of the mrs' (not married) other sisters is expecting in the next few weeks too so the mother can't avoid babies. Suppose it will help that she has a almost two year old already too.
