Rooney. £300k. per week. For 5 and a half years.

That means when he's 33 he'll earn £16m sitting on the bench.

Gerrard is a model pro and playing at 33 isn't without difficulty.

Rooney is a fat **** who smokes and drinks.

And he'll be 33lb overweight. At least he'll have enough money for his annual wig transplant though. Wonder how much he'll be paying Colleen in alimony by then?

****ing Rooney's an absolute ****ing disgrace. Friend of a friend who went to do some work on his house says it was full of takeaway wrappers/boxes when he went there to do the job, not even in the bin, just chucked on the floor and that. No lie. What a joke 'athlete' and these wages are a total piss take. It's not even about whether he's talented enough to warrant the salary - clearly he's not, he's an average average player with no fitness and a bad attitude - but it's a moral thing, it's a disgraceful amount amount of money to give to anyone for doing any job. There are people struggling to survive in this country with food banks, millions in the third/under-developed world scavenging landfills etc to feed and provide for themselves every day and little Wayne has to have his 300k a week, and this goes for all 'high end' footballers on their mega-bucks, what a farce, what a sickening indictment of the human species that we're prepared to allow such financial/economic disproportion. We're sick as a race, seriously are, because we're implicated in it as fans, we pay to let/help these ****s earn the money they do, and happily, we allow the structure to exist. We're disgusting we really are but not as disgusting as the industry that eeks and squeezes every last drop out of us, the league, the sponsors, the tv channels and media, the FA, the agents, the sports companies, the players, the clubs.

I think it's about time you told us what you really think <laugh>

In all seriousness though, I think most fans think it's a disgrace. **** Murdoch has a lot to answer for.

So if someone offers you £100m to invest in your club your response is to spend it all on wages and contract/agent fees to ensure you keep Rooney in your squad between the ages of 30-34 years old?

I personally can't wait to see rooney at age 40.

i think he'll need to wash himself with a sponge on a stick cos he's that fat he can't move.

so who do we want to win.. everton or arsenal next round... I kind of would like everton to win one cup right after moyes left to be honest.. it'd be funny to see moyes last side succeed while his current side flops

it'd really say something about gollum

Rooney, on his day is a quality player but to earn that much, he's got to do it week in week out for the duration of that contract.
That's Ronaldo/Messi type money and as good as he is, he's not in the same bracket as them two.
Personally think Luis 200K contract next year is obscene but that's the going rate for world class I guess!

I prefer Everton over Arsenal. Martinez is doing a good job and playing nice football.

Are you a friend of a friend of Rooney's or are you blindly defending the baldy little plumper because he's got three months left at yoonited?

I forgot for a moment that Traore is on loan too. It is a bit dodgy that the only striker they own is the injured Kone.
