Eh? Sorry, I'm probably being dense? I was asking if we'd take Bassong back? I most definitely would. I also think Turner is reasonably good for depth in squad.
Yanga and Bassong would be good with Iron Mike and Turner and then the youngsters as back up.

Maybe Fulham, Cardiff and the Mackems. The mackems have plenty of additional games and fatigue will accumulating at present. If they suffer a spate of injuries as a result I think it will seal their fate. March will decide their fate as there are must win games then. There are up to 7 games in their run in which look likely to result in 0 points. That puts a lot of pressure on the others. That said they look better away these days so maybe there will be a few surprises from them.

Thing is Hacky, is that we press high up the pitch these days, The big clubs seem to hate it where as the teams around us seem much more apt when it comes to soaking up the pressure. It's been quite bizarre since Poyet joined us as we seem thrive away and against the top teams. Against the teams around us at home we've really struggled.

Stands to reason though that you won't get results from all of City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U. I think City, Liverpool, Chelsea are near certain defeats for virtually all teams. Great home sides. Chelsea have 11 wins 2 draws, City 11 wins 1 defeat, Liverpool 11 wins 1 draw 1 defeat, Arsenal 9 wins 3 draws, 1 defeat. So Spurs and Man U look the vulnerable ones. Both will be desperate for points though and Spurs have improved under Sherwood, and I suspect Man U will finish strong.

The other tough call will be Everton at home. Could a passing bore fest that one with a draw. Again though Martinez's teams often getting better as a season progresses, plans it this way, and they are fighting for Europe. So really Sunderland must get some of the 12 to 16 points needed from the so called winnable home games. They've been poor at home so far, quite simply looking toothless. I assume they will improve as they have to. They can't really afford to add to the 8 they've already lost there.

Its the fatigue which is a bigger concern. The squad is not huge. Poyet is trying to use it as best he can but minutes are accumulating for some. It doesn't matter how fit people think their team is or what 'special' technique they claim to have stumbled on, it tells in the end however you prepare a side or whatever pre season you did. Wigan would have stayed up last season without the cups in my opinion but they were dropping like flies towards the end. They went out the Capital One early too.

Playing a high pressing game is the way to go but even that adds to the physical drain (counteracted somewhat by better ball retention under Poyet but possession won't be great against top sides)

EDIT: I think I have said before I'd prefer Sunderland don't go down, I'm simply saying as a betting forum Sunderland seem a good bet for relegation. Bottom at Xmas and the above etc. Form is on their side on the other side of the coin. Plenty of sides in it fortunately.
