After the massive mistake of playing a weaker team Yesterday, do you think he would make the same mistake next season? (providing he stay's) and if we get far enough.
I've said he will learn, but it depends what his reasoning was. If he really wanted to progress, then he will see that he made a mistake. However, if he was protecting players, then he may accept the loss. He will be here next season!! If others can make sweeping statements, then so can I.
No. Same thing will happen, and we'll be fobbed off with the story of the enthralling race for 7th place!
How about an option on the poll "Not really anything to learn. Picked a pretty decent team who should, on the form book, have won but they didn't"? This overblown hysteria about a single game going wrong is pitiful. Sadly, it's also predictable. Thank heavens you lot don't have a say in it or MP would have been sacked by some of you last night the way you're banging on about it.
No one has said that. Clearly it's you being hysterical. Remember Saints fans, you have to tow the club line and can never ever question anything in a negative way about the club. If you do, then you are a ****ing evil **** that needs killing.
I'm slightly amazed by all the he won't be with us votes. He's already said he isn't going anywhere else until perhaps the end of next season. I've voted he'll learn, but then again, what he has to learn is not what the OP suggests. What he needs to learn is what players he has to get in to strengthen the squad so that it isn't so thin next season. Our squad is very thin for trying to compete on all fronts at the top level. The ambitions for the forthcoming seasons are an assault on the Champions League, that's why Lovren came to Saints, that's why Wanyama came, that's why better footballers will come in future. It's also one of the reasons why Pochettino will stay. Just because Cortese left doesn't mean anything has changed yet.
Or they came for the money and are using the club as a stepping stone for a move to a bigger club? Just as likely as this "champions league ambition" stuff that gets trolled out all the time.
Pretty agree with TSS, this shows the management team very clearly the quality within the squad, who will get new contracts, who will be released and where we need to strengthen. I am in no doubt that MP will fiddle with the line up for cup games but hopefully we will have a stronger squad next season so should have less of an effect on results. What a pleasure to see the Arsenal v Liverpool game where two big clubs took the cup seriously, play their best team and go for it....and they have serious prizes to play for elsewhere!
Nope. No-one's saying that. What is required is a sense of proportion. Be as wild as you wish in paraphrasing a "sense of proportion". A suitable response might be "So you're saying we all have to celebrate when we lose?" or even make it personal with "anyone who thinks we're overreacting must not be as passionate as we are who need to display our pain". I'm sure you'll be able to think of something. Vin
I'm sorry that you can't believe in it, CBK. Either you are too cynical or I'm too gullible. I know which I prefer to be.
While plenty of fans may see the team selection as a mistake I don't think Pochettino is as interested in winning the FA Cup as the fans are so I'm not sure he'd see it as a mistake. I imagine next year will still us playing a slightly weakened team in the Cup. Hopefully next season's weakened team will be significantly stronger than this year's weakened team.
We'll know we're really getting somewhere if next season's weaker team is as strong or stronger than this season's strongest team.
I voted No because he is not an English Dinosaur, the FA Cup means FA to him, I enjoyed '76 but I can never foresee a repeat, with the same excitement, it doesn't happen like that any more. I have been there and done it, I just think that many on here will never experience it at all, opportunities come rarely enough and this was certainly one that may have been grasped, but slipped through our fingers, maybe next year, just maybe.
Most posters on this forum don't have a leg to stand on re: hysteria, given the hilarious wailing and hair pulling after Cortese left.
