Addressing that very issue, Cotterill reasoned: âIf we had drawn at Orient and taken three points at home to Tranmere, everybody would have been saying âwhat a great weekâ weâd had. âI donât think we should lose sight of that, especially given that this is a side that has not been used to winning for some time now. âI think this season will be a little bit topsy-turvy all the time. âBelieve me, the players tried to win this game and theyâve put in a really good shift since I came through the door. We didnât quite have it in us. âWe want to play good attacking football and, if we can sustain that for longer periods, we will win games.â Forced to play seven games in 21 days, three of them away from home against League Oneâs top three teams, City have emerged from that busy spell with nine points from 21. Sums it up On the other hand I would say, could have done better. Some good results, some bad results and some indifferent results. Sums up our season but there is no disguising that lack of wins is still costing us dear
The fact is we beat orient and gained three points excellent,we SHOULD have taken three points against Tranny but we did not. FACT that is not good enough. Apart from Baldock which had his best gone for a very long time the rest need to hang their heads in shame. No game you have a divine right to points,you have to work bloody hard,as in any job. Sorry that was a pathetic effort yesterday by a highly paid,underachieving side.

After that sh*t yesterday Iâd have had them running up and down the Dolman all day today. What theyâre lacking is not energy but motivation and a fu**ing game plan. Thatâs down to Cotterill. The difference was stark between how Tranmere played an our pathetic attempt. I wonder if Cotterill ever thinks how tired we are. When Reid came on for Cunningham he looked totally bemused left side and within minutes was anywhere but left side. He's hasn't played these last few games so 'tired' doesn't come into it.
