jenners, there's about as much chance of Arsenal winning the CL as there is for United i.e. NIL. They may beat Everton at home but even that is open for debate. Let's say they do progress from that one then they are only 1 match away at most from meeting City again. Now City are not generally as good away from home but I truly believe that they will have too much for Arsenal. So there's both the FA Cup and Cl gone west. They are not going to win the league so there's yet another trophyless season. So perhaps they should concentrate their resources upon holding on to 4th?
the one on Agger is strange because in all sense of things it's a penalty and a red card. You are not allowed to punch a player in the head. In the same way that an outfield player when the ball is bouncing, it not allowed to kick someone in the stomach. However, no ref has ever given it so it's not surprising it wasn't given but it should be a pen and red.
see what you are saying dave, i just think teams when nothing is expected of them are very dangerous, and arsenal do have game winners.
Proud of the team today. Barring a few poor performances from individuals I thought we battered them to be honest. Webb is just such an awful ref though. Time to focus on the league now
And then we'll rejoice in always finishing ahead of your midtable crew for the following 20 years. Enjoy the pain - it's coming your way
Wow - what a game. Shame we didn't come away with anything but we deserved so much more. Off day for SAS in terms of their accuracy but were still a menace. Goes to show what early goals can do and we could have had 2 in the first 5 mins. Ahh well - I know it sounds defeatist but I'm not fussed that we're out. Now we can focus purely on the league and securing 4th if not more. A run in the cup would have been nice but top 4 will go a long way in terms of long term progression.
It doesn't really matter who they've got. Their problem is that too much is expected of them by themselves and their fans. Now clever sides learn from their mistakes but Arsenal have refined failing to the point where they are almost expert at it.
Wtf is UIR babbling on about? We are on the up mate, so this season is the first of many, enjoy your clubs new place in the doldrums of midtabledom.
Moyes is ****ing ****e but what exactly has it to with anything here today? Tbf though, I admired your support of woy.
Good luck for the rest of competition I hope you get to the final and play Man City so Man Utd will have to deal with the Europa next season when they finish 7th. Unless Southampton beat them to it that is
Wenger - I've seen the incident but I'd need to see it again. It was maybe, maybe not. Really Why do they even bother to interview managers after the game if they're just going to flat out lie. Wenger... if you say it was a penalty, they aren't going to go back and award it and make you replay the game FFS
arsenals problem now not ours, thank ****. cant see them being good enough for all cups and getting top 4 so they will have to prioritise one, esp with spurs and everton close to top 4. didn't miss anyone did i i know that sounds defeatist, but they have a better squad than us and can maybe cope better.
Never heard that before page. Never Joking aside, should you get into Europe, you wont next season. Too small and too poor a squad. Substantial money would have to be spent and you don't have enough. It will be like spurs, a one off season in the champions league.
The replay could have done harm to us as well... I know LFC are a massive club and we should be fighting on all front but the harsh reality is we're not a big club in terms of squad strength and depth. We're not far off but we're not there yet. CL qualification is worth so much to us, more than just money - it should set us up for the long term and put us in a better position to compete in all comps without compromise.
