Arsenal lucky as ever. Always the victims, always hard done by, whatever. Liverpool deserved to win. Howard Webb showed what a useless referee he really is. Utter clown.

Haha, usual response from yourself. Moan about Saints all of yesterday and today, but referees are immune to it in your opinion.

 

I'm just bored of you constantly criticising referees. It's getting tiring now. We all know what you think of referees.

 

Bored? This is the FA cup and league cup thread. I am discussing an incident in the game, which he got badly wrong, despite standing 2 yards away from it with an unblocked view. No sane person is going to bow down and kiss his feet.

 

Yeah, I admit Webb ****ed up there, no excuses for missing that.

 

That's all I was saying. Plus, it isn't the first time. There are better referees than him in the Premier League.

 

Probably. Webb has been strangely reluctant to give penalties and issue red cards this season. I wonder if Mike Riley had a word in his ear before the start of this season.

 

Some if us do want to win the FA cup, but don't behave or react the same as others.

 

Yep. I would like Saints to win the FA Cup, but the sky hasn't fallen in because we won't this season. Mind you, if we finished the season relegated, having won the FA Cup, I'd be absolutely piddled off in the extreme, because it would be a major setback to future ambitions.

 

It is not Referees per se, there are a couple that are letting the rest down and of course the decent ones get tarred with the same brush, I said at the time today that Webb bottled the decision, maybe because it was Suarez, making it look worse that it was, but the whole thing may have looked different from where he was standing and he doesn't have the instant replay available to figure it out, he made the call on what he saw, and his decision is final. Arsenal were a tad lucky, but that's not unusual is it?

 

Should have been a second penalty, but Suarez always makes it look fake. If he just reacted like a normal person, he would get more decisions. I think Webb is one of the better refs or at least he is so calm giving decisions that players accept them.

 

It was a stonewall penalty alright, but the first one was a bit more 50/50 as there was minimal contact. Webb might have had that partly in mind.

I don't think Suarez will ever react like a normal person btw. He just isn't one (great player though).

 

I saw a few moments of the Arsenal v Liverpool game, and Suarez reminded me of Jurgen Klinsmann as he went over, at times. Theatrical, is a word that springs to mind.

 

Brighton doing well 1 up at Half Time, both teams trying hard! Hull have hit the woodwork twice. Swindon 1 up against Posh 3 - 2 on agg in the JPT.
