If we'd produced a similar performance under any manager against a tidy team, including Brendan Rodgers, Bobby? Robbie!, THE Michael Laudrup or even Nick Cusack/Roger Freestone using a 'B-Team' I wouldn't had any complaints whatsoever. You can't legislate for individual errors, especially from a usually very capable defender in Neil Taylor.

Up until then in my eyes we were very comfortable in the game and more than a match for Everton.

Some of our more inexperienced players lost their way (And heart?) a bit after Everton's second goal but I'm proud of the lads, and IF we'd had a better striker than Alvaro we may had got something out of the game.

Disappointed for my boy Jazz that he gave away the penalty because up until then I thought he had a solid game, better that what Tiendalli would produce, he was a bit too committed perhaps.

Like I said before the game all or nothing please, at least it didn't go to a replay. The leader stated his intentions when he put Leroy Lita on. The lads out there gave it their best shot, it's my gut feeling that we could had even lost the game using our best 11.

In conclusion I thought the lads out there performed well for the most part, were committed, and the lads seem to be buying into Garry Monk's masterplan. The players are also looking sharp it's also encouraging that we have potential decent options to bring on from the bench, Lamah's ball into JDG was Pabloooooooooo esque and it was a great run from JDG himself and as everyone knows I'm his biggest fan*:cheesy:, with his performance today & his run out at Stoke he's looking a different player. <ok>

Rolling on to the Napoli game, bring it on, I expect the first 11 will be on show. I wouldn't worry because even if we lose the first leg 0-2, De Guzman will go to Napoli and produce a Roy Keane esque performance whilst silencing the hostile Naples crowd & score a hat-trick to put us through. :cheesy:

Nah in all seriousness, we really need to get a result at Stadium del Liberty. Bring it on, SING UP SWANSEA! <ok>

And to the mad 'ed's going to Naples, remember, protect yourselves at all times, they are bastards and cowardly, even their OB could beat the crap out of you. Just stay safe. I went to Valencia but I'm not going there, like they wouldn't come here, at least the usually incompetent SWP would protect them. <ok>

GARRY MONK'S BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!

    So come on Wilfried Bony.
    Score some goals for Swansea.
    We'll go wild, wild, wild!
    We'll go wild, wild, wild!

*Irony, Rooftopjack_22, I cannot be serious man.

FAO the initial doubters, are you still sitting on the fence regarding GM or are you backing him?

Or do we have to beat Napoli first? :cheesy:

    SING UP SWANSEA!

My eyes lit up when i first saw monks line up i will admit but when i sat back and thought about it i could see the reason behind his selection....I am very proud of the effort they all made against a superior side and its well done all around from me...

We played well today mate, could had been a different story with a decent striker out there but I believe GM made the right decision. My gut feeling is that we could had lost the game even using our first 11.

Bring on Napoli, I'm sure we'll see the best 11. <ok>

Hopefully the fans will be committed as the manager and the players, like we were against the scum. <ok>

Yeah the lads put up a good fight, I doubted we were going to beat Everton anyway and I am not sure we will put out our top side against Napoli either. I have a feeling the board wants most of the Focus on the league now.

Maybe, but personally speaking I hope we give it a go.

It will be decided between Monks and the chairman. <ok>

No - beating Napoli won't convince people that Monk is the Messiah. Everyone thought (well most) that Laudrup was the King when we beat QPR and then West Ham - scoring 8 goals in the 2 matches. It will take a lot longer to see true effect of his management skills - this was the honeymoon period up until todays selection.
And it's not an issue with backing him, we are all Swansea fans and we give our full support to whoever is in charge..........until we don't.

OMG Do you honestly believe a man who did not have a clue about our players or knew any of their names properly or know what they are capable of was responsible for those wins.<laugh> It was the way the swansea way that won us games right up to the cup final. It was then he started to put his own stamp on things and we went backwards...You will never ever convince ardent fans who knows a little bit about the game that it was laudrup who won our early games and certainly not the cup final. It was our brand of football that won them until the idiot changed things.....we were crap from that point on and you dont become a bad team over night unless you change the way we play....and he did that..

Disagree again here Dai. Up to the CC Final, we played a more direct and purposeful game under Laudrup. For whatever reason, the wheels started to come off after the cup win.

It was clear to see that ML had changed things early doors, as even in the early games our wingers were coming inside, something they had never done before, but Dai likes to say this crap so that he can sit there and believe himself. Just leave him too it, we all know he talks rubbish anyway.

Not only me but the guys at the liberty does too, we all know it was not his brand of football.......Explain why we were so good at the beginning playing football like we always have right up to the cup final and over night laudrups decides to change our playing style to his way where we hardly won a game and looked a different team.....Laudrup never won sod all and he is responsible only for our demise...He will never get any credit from anyone who knows football and the way swansea is run....League cup he couldn't win a coffee cup playing his brand of football in a million years....Just because he was there does not mean it was his team......we saw what his team could do after the cup final......

Any thoughts in regards to the game plan and/or team selection? I thought the lads who were selected played well and put in a good shift and I believe GM made the correct call in resting certain players. <ok>

I think we'll see a different team against the Italians.

Well to be honest mate that's your opinion and I respect that BUT most Swans fans I know are fully behind GM at this point. Even my grandfather who'd watched us for over 50 years was seriously tampin' after the West Ham 'performance' and he usually doesn't have an opinion either way.

EDIT - The fact is there was a break down between ML & the board, therefore he had to go. If the board aren't convinced GM is up to the job he will be moved on, but at the moment I can't see a problem, can you?

On an unrelated note, anyone else think our players are looking sharper in the last couple of games? All of a sudden, or is it just me?
