Mikel has to be one of the most underrated players in the league. I agree that Ramires is also having a piss season.
Ramires is the sort of player that Mourinho likes so I would be surprised if he goes anywhere anytime soon! Mikel is a good squad player, he can do a solid job, he isn't the most dynamic player but he is a good option to have. Man City would love to have Mikel right now with their midfield problems.
Always puzzles me the criticism that Mikel gets from so many fans. Mikel's position is one of the hardest to master in football. We were spoiled with Makelele, probably the best exponent of the position in decades. You need to be physically strong to break up opposition play. Win "dirty ball" in midfield. Have 100% concentration at all times as forward play can break down so quick and you're suddenly needed to mind the house. I have to say any time he is brought on late to shore up a lead i always feel confident we will see out the game. He will lose some ball, but that comes with the territory as he will be in possession more than most. It's no coincidence that Sir Alex wanted him !
