I am also a decent bloke and a loyal supporter, lets leave it at that. if I see you at Wembley I will buy you a pint!!
So you 'read all of the posts', disregarded the several that noted that some folk couldn't afford to go to games and excused them, missed the several times reiterated part that the whole convo was aimed at people who CHOOSE to stay away whilst banging on about their love for the club, then say **** you to people concerned about the failure of these folk to back the club? There is no 'arrogance' or 'self importance' in anything I've written, but I tell you what, **** you too. Arsehole.
As I was one voicing embarrassment, then your post was aimed, directly or otherwise, at me. Mod or no mod, I didn't say when I agreed to mod that I'd give up my right to fightback and defend myself. You don't like it, tell someone who gives a ****.
I was there and enjoyed it but re: the attendance. This must be our 8th or 9th home game since January. With xmas, Wembley etc its not cheap.
GG Didn't think I had focused on anyone's comments - just being general. If you choose to take offence or suspect I was getting at you, then that is your choice. However, if you are one of those ashamed or embarrassed by the crowd, then perhaps you could provide solutions rather than griping? We are in the League Cup Final We are in the FA Cup quarter finals We are two places higher in the league than we were four weeks ago. Oh. 16,000 fans turned out for a televised cup match our manager had played several reserves in with the comment "I hope we lose rather than draw" I think 16,000 medals should be awarded. Not 32,000 black marks. Only my thoughts as a punter, not a judgemental moderator. x
wereas at city, we've only had 3 ****ing home games in 2014 and our next ain't till 1st march against NEWCASTLE... **** sake
Thanks to the voice or reason and common sense ........ it's a drain on people's finances and the game wasn't important. Big deal so let's have a go at Sunderland supporters instead of thanking our lucky stars it wasn't a draw and a replay.
Give it up Stu, people can call them reserves if they want to ........... you concentrate on your own grammar and punctuation eh?
just checked today was your EIGHTH home game in 2014 hull city have only played THREE home games... xmas.. and wembley... bloody hell that's expensive!
Explain to me the definition of supporter, and then explain where 'support' doesn't apply due to changes to the side. If I have to repeat again that I understand and exclude financially stricken or long distance supporters, then I ****ing give up. Supporting a team is not turning up whenever the odds are in our favour or whenever the oppo is attractive, it's turning up whenever you can. Being skint wouldn't count as 'whenever you can' that'd be a mitigating circumstance. 'Televised' on BT Sport? Cos every ****er in Sunderland, in these tough times that get brought up, has pay TV aye? Bollocks. People who didn't go cos they couldn't be arsed, that's who we were getting at, the crown was TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND below our average attendance, in the same week we had hysteria about people not getting cup tickets. Guess what, you all missed your loyalty points again, and if we get to Wembley, you won't see this one either. I repeat PEOPLE WHO SIMPLY COULDN'T BE ARSED. Yes?
Sorry, the mob has spoken .... we're a disgrace, fair weather, glory hunting parasites who should be pilloried on here by Sunderland & Newcastle together.
Stu I accept reserves is probably harsh on the likes of Gardner, Seb,Gianch, but don't be pedantic. At the moment, they are not first choice. So should I have wrote second choice? Rather long-winded, my dear x
