A bad example

    Off footy for a mo -

    Went to a managers workshop today (doesn't that phrase just fill you heart with excitment?) about dealing with staff misconduct. We had to brainstorm a list of actions that would be classed as misconduct, and a list that would be classed as gross misconduct.

    When we'd finished, I read through the list - in my time with the company and without getting caught I realised that I'd committed every action on the misconduct list and three on the gross misconduct list!

    Oh, the shame - or is it whay-hey, the pride?

    Isn't gross misconduct just misconduct with your penis out? It is in my experience at any rate.

    I'll let u know in a few days - it's a BIG organisation and they monitor social network and forum sites in case staff are bringing their name into disrepute..I'm not paraniod, I know of people who've been hauled in after posting innocuous stuff on FB. Big Brother is watching...

    I just spent an hour walking around in the rain, simply for something to do, so I think you should post the list. Hopefully giving me that to read won't force me to venture out again.

    I reckon I've done a fair few things that would get me fired. Some stuff on our misconduct list is just plain petty though.

    I had a coffee with the head of sys admins today and he mentioned that I search for some strange **** on the internet.

    I told him it was all part of my job remit and bought him a pint afterwards so he can clear the file <whistle>
