and finishing 8th is soooooooooooooooooooooooo ****ing exciting. Don't get too excited about that either, because on the evidence of today, I think this season will go the way of last season with naff all effort in the remaining games.
Don't think he touched the ball once. Didn't hear his name mentioned after he came on, I'm not sure where he was playing, 'cos he wasn't on the left wing.
The players he picked should have done better, but it was clear at half time we needed to make changes. Pochettino doesn't have an excuse for not making a double change at half time.
Mostly agree. The thing about Guly and Wanyama is not so much about what they do, its more about what they don't do, which the players they have replaced certainly would. I know that all sounds a bit funny, but I hope u can see what I mean.
He made a double change after we conceded. Is your reply a joke? He should have made the double change at 0-0
WTF was that? I feel so sorry for our fans who travelled all that way to watch that lack luster performance. The team looked as enthusiastic as MP who sat there hunched in his chair looking completely disinterested. The club should refund the ticket price and travel costs to the fans who went all that way to see us try and progress. Shocking!
Why run in football when you can amble around. The kit man won't have to put the kit in the wash tomorrow, no one sweated or got their's dirty.
I think I saw him touch the ball once, and complete a pass. 100% pass rate! To some on here, that makes him a lot better than Wanyama!
Yes I do blame Poch for the team selection - I think that was completely wrong. But the noises from the players were all "we feel we owe them one" and "biggest game of the season" - that's where I don't understand the fact that they played like they couldn't give less of a toss. That's not down to Poch, that's down to taking personal responsibility. In the cold light of day though, you do always get a game or two like this a season. They'll be hurting too, I just hope they have the wherewithal to batter West Ham as a result. Disappointing though, for sure.
I said nothing about the league. But I agree, finishing 8th will be good but not exciting. Both Cups need to be changed as atm (to me anyways) both are a joke.
Wanyama is a certain type of player who should be played in a certain position. He plays a role similar to that of Claude Makelele. It's not really fair to put him in a different role and then criticise him for lacking some of the abilities to perform in that role. He should either be sitting in front of the defense or sitting in the defense. If David Moyes played Chicharito at centre back, you wouldn't criticise him for being **** at winning aerial duels.
Well that's not going to happen. So if you are in a competition, you bloody well try your best in it, with your best players. Going at it half-arse is not only insulting to the fans who pay loads & make a huge effort to follow you to games, but it's also highly unprofessional.
Have to say I wasn't pumped or stoked for today but was on Tuesday. Beef is right a lot of the magic has gone. 5th round and only 16k fans.
I grew up in an era when the FA Cup was second only to the European Cup as the most important club competition. I am angry and frustrated beyond words at today's performance, especially when Jesus Perez admits to being "a little bit disappointed" at losing a game which we should and could have won. On a general point, it's about time the FA Cup was prioritised again. We all remember how we felt at winning the JPT only 4 years ago, well just think how playing at Wembley again would have felt.
BT Sport giving Pochettino some stick for not doing interviews - this surely is club policy rather than Pochettino refusing? Crosby always used to do the cup interviews for Adkins, and Perez has done all the press for cup games; does this have an effect on the mentality of the team though?
Too many teams see it that way tho. Until they either bring in new rules or spice it up some how it the Cups will remain a piss take.
