Why is that when we play against him, Cattermole actually generally tackles and passes like a proper central midfielder?
Perhaps the overzealous defending is caused by the mass hypercriticism. I know mine is. I'm happy to admit he should have made the tackle, but it was hardly the main cause for the goal, yet seemed to draw the most criticism.
He made one mistake which helped lead to a fantastically well taken goal. The rest of the game he's been solid and made some good interceptions. Lambert has been much the worst player on the field today to be honest, closely followed (surprisingly in this case) by Davis.
We were all sold a dummy with this game, that's the annoying thing. Biggest game of the season? Well Adam, the gaffer didn't think so. I know we were set to rest a few, but a Cork would have made a big difference. J-rod for Rickie at the start, I know which of them needed a rest! What a frustrating day.
Don't know whether it was the changes, fatigue, or the players simply didn't give a damn, but that was absolutely woeful. Let's pretend it never happened.
Dreadful, dreadful effort. Terrible selection, terrible performance. Adam's interview saying this was our biggest game of the season was some sort of sick joke.
Very disappointing result and performance, you also have to question the effect on a young player making his debut in a game like this, really what is McQueen going to get from that experience?
