Here's the team in full: K. Davis (c), Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Shaw, Wanyama, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Guly, Lambert. Substitutes: Gazzaniga (GK), Schneiderlin, Fonte, Rodriguez, Cork, Chambers, McQueen.

Dont get it. Why not play our first choice. West Ham is a week away and this is a chance of a 1/4 final place.

You have to think securing as many points in league is priority or why field such a weakened team with a real chance of going further in cup.
I think they live in hope of clinching a Europa spot

I still think the team needed a bit of refreshing, having 3 games in the space of a week. However, Fonte for Hooiveld and Rodriguez for Guly would be my changes over the team.

It's not that weakened. Bench is strong too. Think people are over exaggerating here.

Would've played a close to full strength team.
Don't agree with Davis, Hooiveld, Guly starting when there are better players on the bench.

This is for a quarter-final place and we should go for this with everything we've got.

At least we have some options from bench (Rodriguez, Schniederlin).

Not strong enough. I will be far from happy if we lose.

Told you Jos and Kelvin would play ;) I think we will be ok. Sunderland's side is weak.

Boruc must be injured/sick. Fonte has the cuts to his leg. Wanyama is probably thought to be more suitable for this game than Cork. Wish Schneiderlin and JRod were playing though...tactical I assume...hope MP is right. Not so confident now.
