papers filling column space. be disgusted if we was interested in him, as unlikely as it is to happen, i would like to see some effort to get Shaw.
we won't go for either. cole is on a free. lfc will be linked with anyone on a free. shaw is just not for us. he's a chav boy. nothing wrong with it but he'll end up bench warming there until he realises southampton wasn't so bad after all...
If Sterling carries on this form until the end of the season there is no way he'd go on loan. BR didn't send him on loan when he was a bit out of form and needed some regular game time in a less pressurised environment.. turned out to be the right call, so don't believe he'll do it when he's probably our 4th best player at the moment behind SAS and Coutinho.
guess it will be a good test to see why there wasn't much love for sturridge then. if he ****s off at the drop of a hat to go back there, then sorry its ****ing justified. wonder what a forward line up with Lukaku and sturridge in it would be like, shall we put in a cheeky bid
Don't see why, We've got Moses, Aspas, Ibe and Alberto on the bench. Moses wont be staying beyond the season (I hope), Aspas is **** and I would place Sterling ahead of the other two. Kono and Sterling to rotate would be a good option.
This He's played way too much now to be a loan player. In fairness BR said that when he saw the loan stories that popped up in Jan he just laughed at them. Ship Aspas back to Spain and Assaidi to Stoke and use the cash for Plank and another forward
Why would that happen? For starters Rodgers always talks about having 2 quality players per position. Right now we have Sterling and Moses. Next season we can have Sterling and Konoplyanka. Sterling needs to be rotated at the age he is if we want longevity. Sterling and Konoplyanka are also different styles of player. Sterling runs narrow in to the channels and striker positions a lot. Konoplyanka likes to drop inside in to the CAM area and can also play as a play maker.
Romeo Agresti‏@romeoagresti·2 hrs #Muriel could leave Italy in june: #Liverpool has set its sights on him, who hasn't convinced #Juve and there's also #Wolfsburg. #GoalTZ
Very exciting young player, his value could rocket if he has a good world cup though so we should go for him before it starts.
If we get CL next season, then we need a big squad. Sterling will not go on loan as he has now 'come of age' somewhat and cemented a position in the starting line up. The beauty of Kono is that he's versatile - he can play on either flank or in the middle. And we need quality players in this squad. We've seen how poor our bench can be at times. Luis Muriel would be a fantastic signing IMO but I can't him and Kono coming. I think Barrett reported that we wanted predominantly midfielders and defenders with an attacker - I suspect the attacker is Kono and the rest of the money will go on full backs and a DM (I hope anyway!!).
Well apparently we've already been talking with Kono (obviously) and Lars Bender about summer deals which shows we're keen to get the deals done and dusted before the WC.
That would make sense alright, Ive never seen Kono play so is he better than Muriel? As you said I cant really see us signing both so it might be a choice and I heard Kono is almost a done deal for the summer.
Kono is a very fast player. Him and Sterling would be great balance and ensure we often have some pace down the flanks. Muriel was looked at in the summer, when we thought Suarez might be off, so probably wouldn't be much use in our squad as Coutinho and Suarez tend to control the ball in the middle. We don't need another player like that.
I think with Muriel you have similar players in Suso, Coutinho, Alberto, Tex but Muriel is more of a goalscorer I think.
Not sure about all this plank talk. If we get top four then surely the quality of player we look at will increase too? There is no way Sterling is going out on loan. Equally no chance that Chelsea will bid for Studge.
