Only real surprise is how long it took after MA went. All the best. Thank you for being a part of Gills history and a league winning team. http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.c...e-allen-leaves-gillingham-feb-14-1359647.aspx
Lets face it,he was only signed because he was MA's son. At best he's an average middle of the table League 2 player and most of the time he was a red or yellow card waiting to happen. Tamworth didn't ask to keep him. Glad he's off the wage bill. Glad to see he's going back to college because I can't see him having much of a career as a footballer.
I think that is slightly harsh Vinney, he was a major part of our promotion winning team and his energy and workrate helped us win games. This time last season we were all singing his praises and suspecting he could go onto better things. The boy has got talent and good legs on him, it was just a shame he could play a number of positions as just like with Danny Spiller in his last spell, he lost he kind of lost his identity. Good luck Charlie, you will always be a GFC Champion.
Can't agree with the view that he was only signed because he was MA's son, was maybe part of it lets be honest but proved himself to be capable in League 2 and could still do a job there. Feel sorry for the guy, tainted in many managers eyes as just being at his Dad's club but would do very well for a club like Dagenham at this stage of his career. Was a good squad member last year and hope he can get back into football in the near future.
I think that was VERY harsh vinney. Part of our Champions winning squad and a decent member of it as well. Even if he was signed because of his dad, he never let Gills down on the field. And if it weren't his dad that signed him, I think no-one would have blinked an eye about it. Echo the second statement. Good luck for the future Charlie.
