As we have a week off and have no chance of entering into the bottom 3 i decided to go to see Arsenal Liverpool at the Emirates for some entertainment this Sunday. When i go to Norwich games this season it brings with it a feeling of fear and self doubt and all away games have ended in a miserable walk back to the station wondering why i still con myself into believing that this one will be different and we will play amazing attacking football with my favorite players getting bags of goals. I was not angry or surprised by the Upton park car crash, as the Cardiff game pretty much deflated the last little bit of confidence i have in our survival hopes like an old ripped beach ball ,crumpled and lifeless . Arsenal and Liverpool are light years ahead of us this season and they deliver action packed thrill a minute matches most weeks, Norwich can not compete with this and the season is about as exciting as watching your stock prices get lower and lower until the eventual crash. I love to watch football and i am extremely passionate about our great club but watching us play has been on a par with dental surgery this season with not enough novocaine . I am actually quite excited about watching Ozil, Suarez, Sturridge etc putting on a show and feel a slight sense of guilt as if i am cheating on my boring predictable wife for a sexy young French model but it`s also my birthday and i deserve a bit of football happiness . Going to Carrow road has always been about spending my hard earned money on a treat for myself and the kids but i couldn`t put my poor children through another 90 minutes of what is being served up lately. I am hoping Arsenal batter them for the humiliation that Suarez has brought to us in the last few games. OTBC
Come on Liverpool! My wife is originally from Birkenhead and she is a dyed in the wool Red. We met for the first time after an Ipswich V Liverpool match back in the mid 80s! Liverpool has been my second team ever since especially once John Wark went to play for them!
How does that make her a plastic Liverpool fan! Is it because she no longer lives on Merseyside? Isn't it like saying Canary Max or Canary Dave are plastic Norwich fans because they don't live in Norfolk let alone Norwich!
So if somebody was born in lowestoft, and supports norwich, are they a plastic? I think the question should be, is there norwich fans on here that wasn't actually born in Norfolk?
My cousin is a norwich fan, born and bred in suffolk and has been a season ticket holder for over 25 years. I must tell him how well thought of he is by his fellow norwich fans.
There are plenty of households especially in bandit country (Thetford, Diss Mildenhall) etc where the families are completely split on their allegiances between Town and Norwich!
People can support whoever the feck they want, but I personally don't get supporting anyone else than your local team. Although to be fair if you live in 30 mile radius of Anfield/Goodison, the chances of being taken as a kid to see the mighty Rovers would have been unlikley
Now Liverpool are doing well, it is amazing how many folk from Chester/ North wales etc have revealed themselves to be life long liverpool supporters and none sound as if they have a huge ball of phlegm in their throats
This should be directed to all the Man Utd Wnakers who live in Surrey and have never been as far north as Watford in their whole damn lives! I love the preamble you get from Chelsea fans! The first thing they say is "...I support Chelsea have done even before we got bought by Abramovich!" I just have to smile when they feel they have to justify the reason why they support Chelsea!
Same around East Anglia though, I have three male cousins, one supports Man United, one supports Man City and the other Newcastle!(although he's allowed now as he's moved there)
This proves the point Fenland about Plastic fans! Manchester City did not have much of a fanbase outside of the North West before the Arabs arrived with their mega petro-dollars!
I don't mind people having a 2nd team, but i personally wouldn't consider supporting a team that wasn't local.
Are AS Roma and Borussia Dortmund local enough? They're both my second teams, along with King's Lynn!
