Far from the 1st time I've heard it - sorry. When I want to listen to some non-dance soul, I always go to Ottis Redding, Sam Cooke and Al Green. There's something in their music that just moves me
 
Just like Soul morphed out of the Blues. Rock and Roll morphed out of Rythmn & Blues. Same only very different.

That morphed out of too much substance abuse <laugh>

I was going to fall back on the "there's no such thing as bad music - only music performed badly" but after that I may change my mind <wah>
