I once went to an Indian in West Yorkshire called the ring of fire and asked for a Phal.... it came and I sent it back as being too 'tame'... it came back and nearly killed me..... lived up to it's name though..

 

I hope you didn't Phal-low through as that would have been messy and embarrassing.

 

It didn't help me curry favour with my guest... although I was on the Vindaloo quite a bit..

 

I thought he spoke well. Surely it is Ashley and Kinnear that you should be angry with, can't see how Pardew can do much more given the players he has lost. Haven't properly replaced Ba and Cabaye. And then with so many missing there is only so much a manager can do. What is wrong with Cisse, looked so good when he first came in? Also Ben Arfur was a fantastic player that is unrecognisable now?

 

Totally agree with you regarding Ashley and Kinnear.

I guess the anger we Toon fans have with Pardew is that it's his job to make the most if the team he does have available - and yet the likes of Ben Arfa and Cisse (who on paper should start every game) have lost all confidence and form.

The team look as though they have no heart and no fight. Pardew should be managing that side of things. He has to be the motivator. He has to be the tactician. He has to get the best out of the players. His is therefore failing on all those fronts.

But you're right, that doesn't disguise the impact of having an owner with a complete lack of ambition to take the club forward. So Pardew is about as good as we can expect.

We have players like Debuchy, Anita, Gouffran and Sissoko on board too don't forget.
The issue is that Pards doesn't seem to be able to motivate a team... which is where the issue lies.
Look at SAFC... they have had two lower league managers come in and win derbies against us... yet Pards had better players and more experience for each of the games we have lost.

 

Ben Arfa's a lazy twat that wont move unless the ball's played to his feet, he may as well not have been on the pitch.

 

For our next game I'd like to see following. 4-1-3-2 system

Elliott ( Krull shot to pieces at the moment . Rest him a la Joe Hart )

So we come full circle... Is a manager really required to motivate players on quibillions of pounds? Should we make a Rocky DVD manager? Or should these grown arse men be responsible for acting professionally and showing some inclination to fight?

For me Pards is falling down tactically, which is exacerbated by two horrendous transfer windows. I can't comment on whether he has "lost the dressing room" or not, as I've not been in there on a matchday, so I refuse to criticise him for that. We're just too easy to play against and we're still not creating enough chances in the final third.

Pardew isn't a great manager. We know this... We know why he's here too, and it has little to do with that ability. This is the first time in my life I can't be arsed watching or getting upset at our games though...

 

It is grim to watch and when you do watch it, it's impossible not to get upset.

 

I'm afraid I'm beyond that AB. I'm genuinely apathetic about it now.

 

I'm with you here JPF.
I expect to lose every game and then anything other than a defeat is a bonus.
I know what it feels like to walk in Mr Tiote/Boa/Spaceboy/Korton's shoes.

 

If you've fallen on hard times and have to use their shoes, why don't you go to the Salvation Army, they always try to make sure people have decent shoes and warm clothes to wear in this weather.

Ask Obi about it, he uses them a lot.

Yes the crafty old begger knows how to pick up a penny or two, he'll stoop to anything.

 

He looked it certainly on Wednesday, but in the past he has terrorised many a defence including ours. Maybe I understand the criticism of Pardew in that he doesn't get the best out of these players, but as others have said you would expect players of the class you have had in recent years to motivate themselves. I remember last years game with Chelsea and the team were superb, really taught a strong Chelsea team a lesson. Pardew really schooled Benitez in tactics that day.

 

Take my advice and support Sunderland, you will be given excitement right up to and including the last game of the season, bottom of league, Red cards, change of manager, never a dull moment, for Newcastle lets face it your season is over
