If the queen remains the head of state of an independent Scotland, which is what I have heard would happen, the Union Flag won't change because it is the monarch's flag symbolising the union of the crowns. They just won't fly it in Scotland.

Morning all, a stiff but very mild breeze here this morning. The temperature expected to be in the 60s this afternoon. Really does look that the UK is in for another battering today. Hope that everyone keeps safe.

Dave, the same goes for the Channel Islands, although I don't think it's as bad here but it's bad for a place of this size. As we don't have any rivers, the only flooding is if the wind is strong enough to create waves that go over the sea walls.

This morning on SSN, they featured Mexico's only representative at the Winter Olympics. He's actually a German who lives in Liechtenstein, but his mother is Mexican so he is a Mexican citizen. Maybe Mex can let us know how much attention the press there give to him.

Ak, thank you for the tea.

    Morning all...

Back from a one week all-in, drinks included, package, in a great hotel in SUNNY Lanzarote... :)

All we had was Sky News which seemed to indicate by roving bulletins with reporters making news out of every minor happening, that the entire GB was under water....... Now I really know why I don't watch sky news in the UK!!

    COYH!!!!!!!!!

Goes without saying, it will then allow the rest of the UK to be governed by a parliament not highjacked by a minority in Scotland who have a disproportionate amount of seats in relation to the total population of the UK.

And the banks that issue them are barely solvent and owned by the UK taxpayer at present.

Yes I say this to my work colleagues and they don't get it at all. I think Scotland should have their vote and if they want independence then the whole of the UK should be allowed to vote on the breakup of the Union. I would not mind betting that most English vote will vote for independence.

I am enjoying the Scottish debate... :emoticon-0116-evilg

I was watching the programme on the Stuarts last night and found out that the act of settlement, creating the union, was drawn up because Scotland was bankrupt at the time. Might need to keep it in case it's needed again in a few years. <whistle>

Then I apologise unreservedly to all ladies for comparing any part of their bodies with Alex Salmond - AKA known as Shrek in our office.
