Just having the conversation on the name change thread about players going to Darlington when we were in admin and I realised, we've now had 2 pairs of players play for us with the same name. First one was Stuart Elliott (D/LW), and now we've got Steve Harper (LWB/GK) It got me wondering how often this happens, because off the top of my head I can remember a few other occassions (getting progressively more tenuous): Crewe had the good LB/RB/DM Billy Jones. Shortly before selling him to Preston they signed another Billy Jones, that was also a LB/RB/DM. Fulham had the Belgian Mousa Dembele and sold him to Tottenham for £15M. They've currently got the Frenchman Mousa Dembele in their squad. Fulham again, and a bit of a cheat on this one, they once had John Collins and Collins John playing for them at the same time.
You know when you've missed one of the most obvious ones ever and then suddenly realise.... West Ham - Frank Lampard
Speaking of player names, I was browsing Livescore last night and noticed that Danish club Randers FC (managed by Colin Todd) had won a friendly 9-0. Their two strikers are called Rise and Fall. Consider this my entry for the dullest post of the year award.
