I remember when Tony Wilson died and Pete Tong played Atmosphere( Joy Div not Russ Abott) at the start of his live set as a tribute to the man. I was driving home around midnight and a heavy fog had set in on a rather tepid summer night. I'm not an emotional man but that was a moment that had me close. Very close.
I forgot Public Service Broadcasting Good group. The Streets were pretty good. Weller has had some decent albums since '00 The Coral
One of the greatest tunes ever recorded.
Atmosphere is a truly magnificent track. Though I will be honest, I prefer Transmission.
It may be retro, but i don't really care...
The Libertines are the best thing to come out of 21st Century music. The people who were into it at the time will remember it just the same as we remember the stuff we've listened to!
