The French are ****ing weird. Why eat snails if they are like prawns just eat prawns. Why eat frogs if they taste like chicken.. Eat chicken. I have no idea what I'm doing this weekend food wise. Just hoping this storm doesn't venture this far north so I can play golf tomoro.
Golf a non starter for me tomorrow, not even ****ing worrying about it anymore, there is no chance. Snails are nice. I've eaten frogs legs too, I wouldn't say they are exactly like chicken but they're tasty enough, if unmemorable really. Last time I ate them I was in Montmartre overlooking the Scare Coeur so I don't think I'll bother in a backstreet restaurant in Swansea, it's not quite the same. Looking at the menu I think I might go for the trio of veal. Which, while it pricks at my conscious, sounds wonderful; Veal steak, veal sweetbreads and a veal roulade. All with a brandy and green peppercorn sauce. Marvellous monsieur.
You reckon the French have only been eating snails for the last few decades? Or since the advent of cars? Anyway, this is irrelevant given they taste **** all whatsoever like prawns.
Today for tea I had Heinz beans on toast ... served with curly Kale. Not bad, actually, that curly Kale. Tastes almost exactly like cabbage. Except that it's more expensive. And curlier. I will finish the rest off tomorrow with something a bit more like swanky nosh. Spaghetti hoops, perhaps?
Frogs legs are ok, snails are just chewy garlic not good at all, but French food in general is awesome.
Having the kitchen done at the moment so all cooking is done with a slow cooker, microwave or a panini maker. Been ok so far made some nice stuff in the slow cooker and would highly recommend making spag bol in one.
Afternoon ****s. Quiet work wise today. Due to the city being underwater. Had sausage bacon and egg baguette for lunch.
Some of them move a lot quicker than you think as well, hence my experience at the bus stop. Badgers are ****s
