Watched Annie Hall. It was okay. Not into the whole whiny, introspective, neurotic Jewish stereotype -- or love stories -- but the film had its moments.

Woody Allen's 'masterpiece', made in 1977. Apparently ground breaking at that time, though most of its original bits have been done to death by other films since. It's worth a watch if only for its historic importance to film -- like Citizen Kane. <ok>

Was thinking about watching Blue Jasmine but I'm not a fan of his stuff.

Not seen that one but, then again, I'm not a Woody Allen fan either. I'm going through a stage, like I did in my 20's with books, where I'm checking out the 'classics' of film. I appreciate most but have to admit that the more self-indulgent and/or arty films are a bit hard to stomach. I suppose you have to be a film-maker to appreciate some of their qualities which are lost on us plebs. <ok>

Unlike with books I find it difficult to watch old films.

I agree. Some are far better than others, though. I always cite Sword of Doom as an example. <ok>

So Then Chaps. Off to watch

12 YEARS A SLAVE on Saturday at the IMAX (won some tickets :))

Any good, not as good as expected? etc etc.

    NO SPOILERS THOUGH <ok>

However, I'm guessing he was enslaved for 12 years and then got his freedom back <doh>

Not seen it but meant to be awesome, got it on order

Wonder how Brad Pitt is in it? Every film Ive seen him in recently just seems to be ego boost roles, thought he was crap in World War Z and thought the film couldve been loads more tense

Not a patch on 28 days/weeks later, nowhere near as good for the same sort of film (Virus wiping out humans)

One of the best films of that genre has to be The Crazies. Slightly original and tense. Never heard of it before I watched it and was very pleasantly surprised. <ok>
