OK this will be last reply to you. I am not saying that Giroud is amazing. I am not saying he is an outstanding goal scorer. What I am saying is that he is good at holding up the ball and making the defenders work hard. He did that well today. But unlike other games, he did not have players supporting him, which Ozil should have been doing as number 10. Yes we missed Walcott who is good at that and the only one trying to reach Giroud's lay-offs was Wilshere. Santi and Ozil should have been giving more support and getting closer to him that leaving him isolated against a very good defender in Vidic, who he mostly outplayed. Easy scapegoat yes. **** player no. Best striker in the league no.
We are clearly lack runners from midfield (Ramsey and to an extent Flamini) as well as wingers. Santi and Rosicky wee far too central to spread the play when United bunched up and with no runners Giroud had nobody to link up too and Ozil had no one to pick out the pass. We miss Ramsey but thankfully he should be back before Chelsea and thankfully Flamini is back as well as Mikel is too static.
Couldn't agree more, both Ozil and Giroud would benefit from players like Ramsey and Walcott who run beyond the striker.

I doubt Arsene thinks he is the best striker in the league either.... That doesn't make him a bad player though. He has some great qualities that have helped us top the table for most of this season and be the top team for 2013. We could do with a different type of striker, arealWorld Class tricky, make something yourself type striker andi think everyone is in agreement about that. But Giroud definately has a place in this Arsenal team.

We were more effective and dangerous once Ozil decided to pick Cazorla instead of Giroud, after the 70 min. mark. Gee, I wonder why... Wenger made too few changes too late.
No NO NO , Ozil was terrible and should have scored at least 5 goals. Santi should never have wasted them 2 shots , he should have passed to Giroud , he "holds the ball up well " AND he is "up the front " dont you know nuffink .
I really do not understand what folks on here are whinging about. We got our behinds spanked on Saturday, are you seriously asking we come out today and play like champions after such a mauling. Psychologically, the lads must have been shattered, today imho was about rebuilding our fragile confidence..... You guys can say yes we played a poor Manure side, but a Manure side boasting the likes RvP, Rooney and Mata, just imagine if we had 1 of those players.... these guys can turn a game in a moment! We played the occasion today as well as opposed to the game..... Whether we liked it or not, it Manure we are playing. I would have settled for a point before the game.
