I don't get it? Why have all these people waited in the dark at the crack of dawn in the pouring rain? I know it's the first day of phase 2 but come on. There will be plenty of tickets for them. We don't have over 30000 season ticket holders. Why do the ticket office go on like it's nearly sold out? Are the club skimming tickets off the top for business and hospitality or something? It's not adding up. Am I missing something or are all those people queueing through the night barmy?
A question to the older fella's out there, does this feel like the same build up/feeling to the win in 73? Obviously many thought we didn't have a chance then and citeh have been scoring for fun although we have been their bogey team of late.
Does not seem as intense to me although there are still nearly 3 weeks to go. Also you have to remember that in those days a lot of the North East were behind us including a lot of NUFC fans as the rivalry wasn't as toxic then. Shop windows were all red and white with displays wishing them luck but as I say that may happen nearer the time. Just wish I could get through on the phone to get a ticket - I may put the alarm on for 3 in the morning as it is supposed to be a 24hr line!
Thanks mate, appreciate your reply. I've got no idea what it would've felt like then & now but thank you for your insight. I hope you get your ticket cause you deserve it.
