oh wait, he's back. btw - Piskie is the original BBC606 name and as for attitude, this place had some friendly banter between Arsenal and Spurs fans, the likes of Doovde, Thudd, Croatia, Harry's Disciple etc are a good bunch - and then you turned up.....
Paddy Longlegs it was too - and a great name that is also, but Piskie is the original. The edit btw was to comment on 'attitude' seeing as you demonstrate such a negative one - Like I said this place had a good spirit and some decent banter between the Arsenal and Spurs fans - until you showed up.
Barca offered £34M for Cesc, Modric is a similar Player/level, that would be where I would expect the bidding to stop. And off he will go.
Where did the decent Spurs posters go? Doovde aka Dan, Thudd aka Foxy, Croatia, Harry's Disciple (no not you Shelfy ) Since the mopey old lot from BBC joined the standard has plummeted ......
Lol i know i'm getting well ahead of myself but surely Levy isn't going to wait until after the Euro's to find out what Harry is doing. Because it's 100% clear Capello will step down after the tournnament, i'm hoping that the announcement of who will be England manager will be made before the tournament. That way we can go for our new manager ASAP and focus on 2012-13 and our return to the CL
Dzeko or Torres will take that crown. The big signings in Jan 2011 all flopped, except Darren Bent. Who would of predicted that eh.
Who else will get it though?? I don't think Levy would sack Redknapp if we kept finishing in the top 6.
Maybe I lack ambition as a Spurs fan, but to finish in the top 4 unless we are paying mega transfer fees & wages is near impossible and sacking a manager for getting close to it would be very harsh. All I hope for is that we remain near the top 4 mark and then once the Stadium situation is sorted we can start paying more and attracting better players.
If Modric is sold, it will only be into a stupid, i.e. Carroll or Torres type bid. One that you just can't say No to.
I think that the manager is already in place at Chelsea, to be honest, Lidls. Even if he isnt, as Piskie already pointed out, Modric would fit into almost any manager's plans. Don't want him playing the deeper creative role that he plays at Spurs? Move him onto the left wing or push him further up the park. He'll still do a very good job for you and you've nicked one of your opponent's best players, too.
The stadium is years away, we're gonna end up like Everton I fear, hampered by finances and trying to punch above our weight around the Europa league places. Even if we get an injection of investment we're still be confined to our 'sustainable' limits so it's got to happen as soon as. I like the way we're run but the limitations of it are already biting us. Least I know we wont go bust or face a mass exodus against our will however.
We're not as hampered as Everton though, Darren. I genuinely feel sorry for Moyes. He's got a lot of expectation, with very little in the way of resources to back it up with.
True, it's not as dire because at least we have the means to grow. Spurs fans are ultimately going to have patience, something in short supply in this day and age.
Very true, Darren. What choice do we have, though? It's very frustrating, as we're constantly being set back by those with more resources than we have, but we just have to wait til the stadium is sorted out and enjoy the high points til it happens, while enduring the low points.
