If we manage to stay up this season, how long will it be before the Poodles start yapping about him having taken the club as far as he can and calling for his head?
1. A few weeks into next season? 2. Half way through next season? 3. Towards the end of next season? 4. Some time during the season after? 5. Years and years? 6. Never?
Why even bother with a numbskull thread like this? You just encourage those weaker ones amongst us .... as evidenced by some of the poo poo threads after the game last night and today. Stiff upper lip and all that eh?
Me too, if we went down I get the feeling it would be more by a bit of bad luck, because results elsewhere just went against us.
But that's not really what I'm asking, John. I'm talking about the scenario wherein a club finally establishes itself in the top flight but after several seasons of mid table mediocrity, during which time it becomes clear that they're never going to become one of the Big Clubs challenging for the title, or likely to grab a Champions League spot, the fans get restless. The novelty of being in the top flight has worn off and the fans become frustrated. Maybe we could call it Pulis Syndrome?
Anybody who seriously thinks that should go and get a brain scan! At face value we have signed players we would NOT have got but for Brucey
What if we were still in the PL in 5 years time, but haven't progressed and we're still battling away in the lower/middle reaches?
Bruce our best ever manager...period.what guy started this thinking?.....were only 2 games UEFA cup qualification too...shud guys who win league beat us in final too...chin up!
If Pulis performs like he is now and keeps em up...GTD sacked halfway through next season! cos beginners luck ...Brucie not so beginner learnt mistakes n Fergies fave player for future guidance just end of phone.he earns his wages!
Bruce will be our best ever manager ONLY if he keeps us up & beats 35 pts/17th position, if not it's still Brown.
Lets say that happens. My interpretation of your scenario is this. 2013-2014 PL 2014-2015 PL 1st 2015-2016 PL 2nd 2016-2017 PL 3rd 2017-2018 PL 4th 2018-2019 PL 5th So that will be at least 6 straight PL seasons. That would mean that in the previous 10 seasons we had been in the PL for 7 of them and 8 out of the previous 11. We would be an established PL side in that scenario. Even if we finished 17th every season it would be one hell of an acomplishment for us. Think about it. 15 year olds wouldnt have been alive when we were in Div 3. 20 year olds would have no memory of it. Maybe 1/3 of our entire fan base would have no memory of Div 2. People would be talking about the old days and be refering to our first stint in the PL. Anyone who had the nerve to complaign about Bruce in that scenario is already a fan of ManU, Liverpool, Arsnel etc. No Hull City AFC fan would be the least bit disapointed.
