Let's face it you can put on the stay list: Smith, Hunt, Murphy, Aribiyi, MZ, Wootton. I'd put on the list: McCormack, Byram, Mowatt The rest can go
Brian McDermott and Massimo Cellino will meet tomorrow for the first time since Cellino’s botched attempt to sack him, with Leeds United’s manager increasingly determined to carve out a relationship with the Italian. Cellino is flying in from Miami to attend United’s Championship game at Brighton, the start of an important week in which the Cagliari owner expects the Football League to approve his 75 per cent takeover of Leeds.
Looks like Cellino will need deep pockets. Some of warnocks and some of mcds need moving on. Could mean anything up to ten new faces. No point in relying on freebies and loanees again, it simply won't work
Em... supposed to be at 'Udders, no show...supposed to be at Brighton, no show... beginning of a pattern here? Hardly shy, is he?
Just very keen to see this guy walk the walk now... if he doesn't. we're fcuked. No other game in town.
Just got back, terrible game, Brighton just as poor as us. Our best player was Warnock, despite his free kicks being woeful. Think his freak goal against Yeovil has gone to his head cos we had a free kick way out on the touch line and he asked the linesman if it was direct or indirect From where I was it looked as though the goal got a slight deflection so I don't think Kenny can take the blame. Two shots on target summed up our display really, very average bunch of players so mid table's looking about right.
LIE,cheers for yer report, mid table it is I'm afraid. Lets see if the italien gets approved tomorrow, Hope so 'a new broom sweeps clean'
Pretty sure, other than his first season, Ross has either been our top goalscorer or top assist maker every year, I would say that he has already shown that he isn't a one season wonder as he was doing it at Cardiff as well.
His first season was a bit of a disaster to be honest, but then he hit 19 the season after. Last year he was constantly played out of position, but I'm fairly sure he reached double figures in assists, and still scored something like 8 goals. This season he's scored over 20 and has probably got a large number of assists too. I think he's proven if you play him in the right position he will guarantee you goals, and assists.
According to ESPN 12, 6, 1, 2, 2, 6, 0, 0 29 total in 8 seasons If you get 20 goals out of him you are doing well, we really do need another 20 goal striker alongside and a midfield that can chip in with double figures if we wish to contend at the top. I had this debate with Josh and a couple of others earlier in the season and I fear it is going to be proved you need in the region of 70 goals to be in with a chance, our squad hasn't anywhere near 70 goals a season in it.
This might be a little controversial, but I reckon you could get 10 goals out of Pugh if you played him regularly.
On his side I just found this article:: Last season McCormack only netted five times in 32 Championship matches, the season before that he netted an impressive 18 in 45 matches and in his first season at Leeds just two in 21 matches. He is however currently at the top of the scoring charts in the Championship and with his competitors like Jordan Rhodes being linked with mega money moves, is it unfair on Leeds to ask for the same? McCormack has contributed to 49% of the goals scored by Leeds United this season, and not only that, he is by far their most creative player too. He has created 57 goalscoring opportunities for his teammates this season, but has only been credited with three assists. It shows an incredibly poor conversion rate by his counterparts, which could of course leave him frustrated. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/27/ross-mccormack-for-5m-reasonable-or-overpriced/
