in the North West tonight plus snow/rain from the Met office 'During this afternoon a swathe of exceptionally strong winds is expected to affect western parts of Wales and then some northwestern parts of England this evening, particularly in coastal areas. Winds are expected to gust 80 mph widely and possibly reach 100 mph in the most exposed locations in west and northwest Wales. Winds of this strength can cause widespread structural damage, bringing down trees and also leading to loss of power supplies. In addition, large waves are likely to affect some coasts. The public should take action to alter their travel arrangements during this spell of storm force winds' make for an interesting match !
I've been to the Etihad on a normal day and its was windy as hell due to the stadium design. Tonight could be insane. Mannone hatrick.
I would have thought if the Met Office are forecasting such severe weather -and advising people not to travel this evening then the match would be postponed by now ? http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...er-news/wind-red-alert-for-manchester-6699630 Or is it easier and more satisfactory to let peeps set off from Wearside travel halfway to the game and then cancel a couple of hours before kick off ? strange one imho
I can see a crane (the machine, not the bird) standing well above the Hilton in town, from my office. The crane is usually a good reference point for how windy it is, right now it's barely moving at all, but it could get interesting if these 100mph winds reach the city centre, far more interesting than this paragraph of useless information. Don't stay tuned.
I can see it from migrate view of the city from my desk, without moving. Can't see this one lasting very long!
Wouldn't have thought so mate, it's a bit cold and rainy as usual, nowt that would bother you lot from the North East, be like a trip to Sub-Saharan Africa for you lot.
Nowt like a Scandinavian wind off the north sea to make you feel frozen to the core fella. I'm come from Darlington so not immune to it. Night matches are the worst. Thought I was going to die at the Chelsea quarter final because I turned up in two shirts and hoody. That was a bloody cold night and an utterly joyous one too.
Tell you what, the wind in Darlo now is pretty bad, I've got 20ft conifers almost bending to a right angle. Sideways rain too. **** I need milk!
@SAFCofficial Heads up for fans travelling. Two lanes closed & queuing traffic on M62 westbound btwn J23, A640 and J22, A672 because of overturned lorry
Chinese midgets everywhere getting blown off their feet! It's gone a bit windy now lads might be worth having a few quid on you lot to win, Silva will get blown out the ground!
