Out of the following, which teams can we bag points from?

Cardiff V Hull
Tottenham V Cardiff
Cardiff V Fulham
Everton V Cardiff
Cardiff V Liverpool
West Brom V Cardiff
Cardiff V Crystal Palace
Southampton V Cardiff
Cardiff V Stoke
Sunderland V Cardiff
Newcastle V Cardiff
Cardiff V Chelsea

My predictions:

1-0 (W) Cardiff V Hull
1-0 (L) Tottenham V Cardiff
2-0 (W) Cardiff V Fulham
1-1 (D) Everton V Cardiff
0-2 (L) Cardiff V Liverpool
1-2 (W) West Brom V Cardiff
2-1 (W) Cardiff V Crystal Palace
1-1 (D) Southampton V Cardiff
1-0 (W) Cardiff V Stoke
1-1 (D) Sunderland V Cardiff
1-2 (W) Newcastle V Cardiff
0-3 (L) Cardiff V Chelsea

Predicting 18 points from our final 12 - Is that too optimistic?

Would take us to 40 points.

Agree Steve, we need the likes of WBA, Sunderland, Norwich etc to slip and Fulham to remain below us. I think it's going to go right down to the wire

Just for some fun and an outside viewpoint

1-0 (W) Cardiff V Hull
1-0 (L) Tottenham V Cardiff
2-0 (W) Cardiff V Fulham
2-0 (L) Everton V Cardiff
1-3 (L) Cardiff V Liverpool
1-1 (D) West Brom V Cardiff
2-1 (W) Cardiff V Crystal Palace
2-0 (L) Southampton V Cardiff
1-1 (D) Cardiff V Stoke
1-1 (D) Sunderland V Cardiff
2-1 (L) Newcastle V Cardiff
0-2 (L) Cardiff V Chelsea

I can see you getting 12 points.

Can't see us getting a point at Everton and a draw would be decent at Newcastle rather expecting all three points - so on those predictions that's down to 17 points.

Your prediction of a win at Brom might be possible, but again a point will be good. Having said that, I think we could pull off a Premier league saving win at Sunderland towards the death of the season.

That still leaves us with 17 points going into that last game and I'm sure it would be enough to keep us up. Don't want to need anything from the Chelsea game.

Genuine question, what makes you think you can change the results around, baring in mind 22 points from 26 games, yet you predict 17 from 12 almost 1 and a half points a game.

thats optimistic for me, we need 15 points to survive IMO. the big thing for us is that everyone from west ham down is in danger, and there are a raft of teams that will take points off each other and if we get a win here and there, you can jump up places and get out of the bottom 3....

Trundle - Probably the need to do it overides the reality, but there you go.

Sometimes you can see light at the end of the tunnel - bloody long tunnel though. <ok>

very easy to say that Jay, but going out and getting the wins is a whole different thing. bearing in mind we have 22 from 26, its highly unlikely we'll get 18 from 12.

it means going out and beating hull and fulham at home, when other teams will be targeting those games too. we'll see if we have what it takes but i cant see us winning both of those......<ok>

Swampy - after last night we simply have to do that. Those two will be down there come May, and beating them could put both below us because they are literally "6 pointers" in the true sense of the maths. Draw them, and certainly if we lose them, we're down.

thats the thing sparkey, i cant see us winning both. maybe a draw and a win or the other way round but not 6 points. if we're talking about teams with less need for the points, possibly, but these teams will set up first and foremost not to lose (in the case of hull), though to be fair fulham need to win or they are down.

The first half of the season, we had most of the big teams at home. Now we are playing the teams around us at home, giving us a chance to pick up a bit of form and momentum. It doesn't always work that way, but it won't help anyone saying we are going to lose all of our games. Also, we have a slightly more favourable run in than most teams around us.

Anything can happen.

The logic is there but dont forget the others around you are fighting for their lifes as well. Where as you are targeting the Hulls and Fulhams, they will surely be targeting you for the oints as well. Some of those games could be harder.
