Impossible to say now - we look likely to lose Malky so who knows what sort of side we will have and what sort of manager

Where does that leave all the deals being done (if any) now?

Seeming Malky has been on holiday, would suggest they will be at the same stage as before - that's if there are any in the pipeline... Only thing is if Malky ties to hi-jack them if he does go, or if they decide not to come here because Malky has gone!!

Of course it may not have been Malky doing most of the talking

I'm pretty sure when they previously talked about the whole transfer process under Stephenson, there was about 7 stages to it from identifying a player to signing him, and the manager doesn't come in until about stage 4 or 5....

Leo, is it possible for you to lock some of the Malky threads and get the subject discussed on just one or even two?

Found the article - it's 6 stages and Malky won't watch the player until stage 4... so maybe it won;t effect any potential transfers!!

A glum afternoon in every respect. Much concern down here about test match revenues for the Rose Bowl's maiden test. Far from sold out and chucking it down much of today...tomorrow's forecast even worse. Assuming MM goes, which looks increasingly likely, I hope we can find a new manager who plans to stay more than a week or two.

Not for me...... Must say when I left my sports club I left it with succession, better finances (put club back into profit), better sports performance (30% improvement year on year in medal counts and increased presence at national/international competitions) and I did this for free and the love of meritocratic sport. Compare to Malky errr ok in difficult times he's managed to hold the club basically steady so no great shakes!! I do believe we can do better or at least as well as long as the culture in the club is good. Thats the big question though under a new regime it could be good, it could be bad we'll not know until about October and by then our season will be set in stone.

Now there's a thought...WFC managed by the Nest. We'd be strong in the overseas scouting department and not short of tactical opinions. Many of us would qualify for a better seat and the way things are going we might even finish up on the bench. The quality of red wine and real ale served at the ground would undoubtedly go up a notch or two and if AKs match threads are anything to go by, optimism would transmit itself so powerfully to the playing squad I can't see us losing many games. All we need is someone to ring Baz....

Think, as a form of WFC escapism there are a few episodes of the New Dr Who series ,I might watch a couple of them this evening
