Did the game look different on the TV tonight than live down the CCS?

So what did the armchair warriors make of KWJ ?

    The second half performance?

    The midfield ?

    Scotlands number one ?

Talking to a few Villa fans in Grange after the game they found it a bit of a novelty watching a team in red being supported by fans in blue .......................if you were there (yes you know whom i`m on about)
you would have seen and heard once again all around the ground .......................

Apart from the 2 deflections (the only saves Marshall made of note) I can only remember Villa having Agbonlahor's chance. I thought the game was very even and can't really complain about the result.

Dai - Not sure why you think we should have lost by 2 or 3. We hit the post twice and apparently had a very good shout for a penalty turned down.

Okay I''l bite although I didn't get to watch it on the tv just on my phone while I was sort of working. I'm sure you'll discover what working means if you look in the dictionary.

KWJ looked like he has the turning circle of an oil tanker but less speed.

I thought AV were more organised in the second half which made us look poorer and a draw was always on the cards.

The midfield suffered from the loss of Mutch.

I didn't know that Scotlands number 1 was playing for us but as you were there and I wasn't you would obviously know better.

Yes john we all know how you're the greatest supporter Cardiff have ever had because you go to games now & some of us don't for whatever reason, which if you ever grow up you'll understand.

Now go **** yourself with the rough end of a pineapple.

John.....what are you trying to do by this? You are young yet and showing it. You are from a long line of Cardiff supporters for sure. But has anhone told you of work and other interests? I saw one like you at the Stoke match.... maybe it was you. He was walking around at half time with a pint in his hand .......barely able to walk let alone drink it, talk or function meaningfully. Oh.....and he had evidently pissed himself too!
You talk of being a student but you show no evidence of independent thought, analysis or, frankly, intelligence.
Maybe when you grow up, you will do so but until then, you might be better staying away from your keyboard.

i thought we did everything but score and i was at the game. it does worry me that we cant beat villa because in all honesty they're awful and based on yesterdays performance could be starting their bad run. I don't like Kenwyne Jones ON THE FLOOR but he's not there to do that he's there to flick the ball on and head it in, HOMEWORK (unless your too tied up with uni JONNY):name me 3 tall strikers we could have got by giving the other team Odemwingie.

I watched the game on tv and it was like most of prem football games....fking rubbish......agree ken jones needs 2 start turning ten minutes before the ball gets played 2 him(a prem player lol, really?).......I thought the atmosphere was again poor but what do we expect when season tickets get sold 2 them with money rather than me

what more can I say other than I was warm, and in the house as soon as the final whistle went........ps I didn't boo either lol

ps taff you got a cheek having life experience when you should be in the CCS signing and abusing tan the man and his tiny temper red city shirt

It does make me laugh that the fans will slate players for lack of effort or commitment whilst our 2nd half atmosphere had the CCS like a morgue.

We are short of goals none of the strikers at the club are good enough and the side didn't give us much to cheer 2nd half but compare that to the way the boys had 100% support all game against Man City and it's clear it's not just the players who aren't anywhere near their best.

John this could have been a decent thread, good questions and points for discussion. As always though your immature nature means you have to start with a dig at something or someone you perceive to be beneath you. I'd love to meet you one day as, fair play, you must be something pretty ****ing special.

Not so. Game of 2 halves; a draw a fair result overall.

Cardiff were best for the first 30, Villa hardly threatened but the longer the game went on, it was obvious Villa would come into it more and but for Marshall would have won. City impotent 2nd half, losing Mutch again a big blow.

City needed to score first half, and deserved to but for a top save from Kuzan.

    There's still hope..............

John you really do need to stop letting yourself down with your inane posts. They really are gutwrenchingly awful.
I was at the game, in the Synter BMW suite, as barclays gave me some tickets, sold my seats back to the club for an amazing, £1.87 for my sons and £8.36 for mine. However up where i was last night, and ordinarily in the Family stand, there are many many people who wear red and the red scarves. I have only been to one away match this year (Villa) and i was sat with their fans (which was interesting) but on arriving at Villa park our fans arrived and i have to say many of them were drunk on arrival and basically very boorish. Just because you go to what seems like every away match does not make you more of a supporter than anyone else. You stated some time ago that you have been a supporter and attended since the age of 4. Well here's news for you John, when you were 4 i would hazard a guess that all you were interested in then would have been anything other than the football, the human memory will not form properly until you are about 9 or 10 my friend. Therefore you have only been a supporter through the good times at this club. You have never put a shift in the lower leagues going away from home, whereas the majority of us older fans have. Scunthorpe away clinching promotion in 91/92 will live long in my formed memory as one of the best days of following Cardiff City.
To conclude. You come across as a bit One eyed with your views and the vitriol you spout goes to prove you are perhaps attending the games, not for the football but for companionship, which is fair enough. However if you are in University i hope for all of our sakes that one of your subjects is not English Language.

As for Kenwynne Jones, Good in the air, awful on the ground, and in my humble opinion a bit of a waste of space.

How many points do you think Marshall has secured for you so far this season - It must be quite a few? He must be your player of the season especially with the displays he put on early season.

And yet we could easily have scored second half - KTC broke down right put in a great cross - KWJ not quite there - Campbell on the end of it with a weak header straight at their keeper. That must the the 3rd or 4th time I have said that this season.

Draw was a fair result bearing in mind the first half near misses and Zaha's disallowed goal.

Strange as it may seem JH I was there - as I am for 99% of home games - and didn't have the benefit of tv replays to see if the decision was correct or not. Similarly I didn't I have a clear view of the penalty claim.

JH, I will answer most of your questions: -

Second half performance - pretty well outplayed by Villa other than the chance I mentioned above and a couple of headers by Caulker where a cleaner contact would have made their keeper work harder. Villa were fitter, stronger and quicker than us but our back 4 and Marshall put in great performances. Turner was my MOM - who would have said that after Saturday? Apart from the odd stray pass did he put a foot wrong?

Midfield - not such a direct threat after Mutch went off - looks like a hamstring problem - hope they got it early and he's only out for a week or so. But why is he now taking corners? The extra extension to his leg muscles caused the hammie problem. In saying we were not such a threat I thought Eikrem played well. He is very skilfull and rarely wastes a ball, always looking for a good pass and tried some great through balls down the channels which we didn't get on the end of. Not as combative as Mutch which is why we got pushed back - nevertheless a useful player and perhaps an indicator of the style of play OGS eventually wants to pursue.

I thought Medel played a lot further forwad until the last 10 minutes or so when numbers were needed at the back. He broke up play well and we must name his early sliding tackle - won the ball cleanly every time - the Medel!!!

Daehli looks useful, again great first touch, ball retention and short passing like Eikrem. Looks like he lacks a yard of pace to get past his man and perhaps this is why he never made it with Man U.

Marshall was awesome - as commented on by both BBC and Talksport this morning. I went for Turner as my MOM because his improvement compared to Saturday could not be measured. However, it was Marshall that secured the point for us.

I thought Villa's support was very good although they went quiet when we got on top first half. However our vocal support was poor especially second half when we were continually pushed back. Perhaps it is a sign of downbeat expectations. It is difficult to turn that around to positive support when we have had to do that so often this season.

I believe that continually defending becomes very wearing and it has been a regular feature this season that we look worn out and shattered in the latter stages of every game. It cannot be down to lack of fitness but can be attributed to fewer top quality players than our opponents, an inability to retain the ball towards the end of games and the pressure that brings on us as teams pour forward and keep us under the cosh.

On the positive side didn't Campbell look so much brighter with KWJ doing all the physical stuff? 4 4 2 is certainly an option now and the more they play together the better they will get. Points taken about KWJ's turning circle, must be slower than me if that is possible. However, he works hard and is a real asset defending corners and other set pieces. Bony wouldn't have got Swansea's third if KWJ had still be on the park. He would have cut it out before it got to Bony.

As for your last point John, yes I would like to go back to blue and have no problem with people wearing that colour but VT holds the purse strings and while he wants us in red we will be in red. Do you really want him to go away and take his money with him? We certainly wouldn't have any chance of staying in the Prem and possibly would lose our club completely in 2/3 years time unless another billionaire came along. They are not forming a queue at present. So the Villa fans found it a novelty, so what? At least they are talking about us.

As Steve said, JH you raised some good discussion points but completely let yourself down by your baiting tactics. You really do need to grow up. Everyone has different agendas, commitments and thoughts and is entitled to express them reasonably, yes even you. "Reasonably" is the clue and until you realise that you will continue to be an annoyance to most on here. <ok>

Offside by the proverbial country mile.
Haven't seen the pen shout on tv yet.
One of the more enjoyable home games this season; albeit goalless. City gave it a go; didn't get the goal and had no luck (again) but predictably ran out of steam.
If that had been in November, pleased with the outcome but its 3 points we need now but to be honest have to reiterate a draw was a fair result over the 90.

    Cheers Ninian.

I agree about enjoying the game. Both sides set up to attack but we are just not strong enough to sustain that game for 90 minutes, or 80 minutes or..........
