Also seems to be getting overlooked that Neil built the best young team that we have seen since the 70's

I'd rather see us invest in the academy and produce a player than pay someone like Myokolo (sp), or buy a Balde to contribute **** all.

To me it seems at times we are spending for the sake of it. Yes we may get a Wanyama, so have to take a risk sometime, but if the scouts did their jobs properly they should have noticed that both Bangura and Balde are absolutely ****ing woeful.

Buy buying 5 or 6 players we are preventing lads like McGeough who has shown as much ability to me as Boerigter has getting games.

Its not an obsession, its a case of develop and work with what we have to improve what is there. If we arent going to then whats the point of lennoxtown?

About 70 youth internationals at the club. Only Forrest & Fisher making the first team regularly. Forrest is injured most of the time and Fisher was dropped as soon as Matthews showed up half-fit on Saturday.

Lennoxtown is a £15m white elephant by those standards.

I'd love to agree with you, but i'd say its more like for every Bangua, Balde, Juarez, Daryl murphy, Oliver Kapo there is a Wanyama

I'd like to see a list of all Lennons signings since he took over to get the actual stats on how many have been a success...it would be quite a long list i imagine. there has been a lot of players brought in

It's not a fascination ... it's wanting to see the Lennoxtown producing.

Would you rather not see Cetic play a team with the spine made up of homegrown players?

I'd love to see a first team squad of 15 with at least half being great footballers produced by the "academy".

We've developed players in the past - some pretty decent ones. No reason we cannot now. And it would cost very little.

The only way we'll ever have a world class player ever again is to find or develop one. Every club in the world are trying to unearth gems from abroad.

Invest in youth and we will see players who want to play for Celtic. We will see a better national side. We will see a better SPL as those who dont quite cut the mustard will go on to play for our rivals and improve them

Oh and while i'm on a wee rant. How many of Barcelonas first team squad are world class and cost them the grand sum of **** all?

The reasons - many years back they invested in the academy and coaches

    Oh and they play them

Not with Neil Lennon in charge. He said this about 3 weeks ago:

That's the attitude of our manager. Saving his own skin, covering his own arse with Lawwell.

Lennon has got far more right than he has got wrong with his signings.

Lennoxtown is not just for the youth players its for the first team as well.

    How so?

He made a total ****-up of it this season and last season. Apart from VVD nobody is consistently good that we've signed in the last 18 months.
