This. It used to do my head in at the start of last season when he got undeserved praise in my opinion and it made me biased against him but he's improved no end since then and quickly become a player no one can dislike. When was his last mistake?
At least it isnt broken. Hopefully the damage that did occur isnt to bad and he isnt out to long. No matter what they tell us as far as a return date he will be back before then. It is Mcshane after all.
Torn ligaments can be worse than a break, more painful and they can take longer to heal. I did mine really badly in game about four or five years ago and it still gives me problems now(though I was already an old duffer who was **** at football).
When I suffered what sounds like a similar injury I was in hysterics. However, it was 2am and I was very drunk. I slipped off a kerb, twisted my ankle way out of shape and then fell over in a completely comedy way. It was hilarious at the time. Then when I woke up a few hours later with my hangover, the pain was awful, my ankle had ballooned up like nothing I'd ever seen before and I wasn't actually laughing then. It was about 5-6 weeks before I could put any weight at all on it and several months before it felt anything like normal. This was 12 years ago and even now I feel the odd twinge of weakness in it. Sadly I think this is definitely Macca out for the season.
McShane will be back - maybe not this season but he'll back. As well know injuries are part of football and good luck to McShane for a speedy recovery. As to how it affects our formation for the rest of the season is another matter. As things stand we only have Davies, Bruce and Faye as recognised CB's - we need Chester back asap.
Spot on there, ligament damage is far worse, in situations last night you hope for a break rather than ligament damage, its much easier to treat and the long time effects are significantly reduced.
Some of you dick heads should be thoroughly ashamed of your comments about Macca. He has proven himself under SB and has not let us down when he has got his chance. What sort of f...ing supporters are you when you take the piss out of one of our players who has just sustained a serious injury. Brain dead twats.
I did mine and it's apparently a six-monther (four months through) and I can now run properly on it, and probably could a month or so ago. Mine was one of the worst my physio had ever seen, but McShane is a bit older than me so who knows.
It was a nasty one, as said I think that will be it until the end of the season. We will miss him, especially with Chessy out as well, wish him a speedy recovery.
You should have known better. Then again...................... Yes agreed John. Everytime McShane gets into the team and plays well he gets an injury. But then again that is what makes Macca, Macca. We shall miss him but hopefully both Rosie and Chester will be back by the Newcastle game on march 1st. Time to use Thunderbird Pod 5.......Big Abi Faye.
