Bruce just ain't technically good enough and that's what you need from defenders at the top level, he is a championship defender it's a shame but it's obvious

We need to get behind him though cause he's gonna play the next few games

We were made to look ordinary by a very good Southampton team, IMO the best we have seen at the KC this year.

Touch and Go for Chester at Cardiff, hopefully he makes it; if not if they play Kenwyne Jones i'd go with Faye. Hopefully Rosey back also will allow us to get the defensive liability known as Elmo back into a wing back role.

We need Aluko back in the starting XI as soon as possible, at the expensive of anyone.

Firstly, hats off to Southampton, 1-0 flattered us a little bit last night, they created a fair few chances and played as well as any other team that's been to the KC this season.

    MOM choices:
1 Harper, countless saves made last night, solid distribution - dealing with a fair few back passes and brave enough to win a 50-50 with the ginger messi
2 Davies, another great performance last night, played really well defended magnificently against a very good and quick attacking team
3 Elmo, not an awesome performance, but a willing runner from right back, put in some good crosses and didn't defend too badly either

It's alright having 2 class strikers but they still need the service, can't expect them to do it alone. Frustrating evening.

Boyd worked his socks off last night as he always does, however very limited end product!

Bruce junior plays with his heart on his sleeve, however put him under pressure and he can't get rid quick enough, anywhere will do. Premier League defenders have to play their part in retaining possession. Last night, I don't know what our pass completion was but suspect it was awful........Bruce, Figgy, Harper and surprisingly Huddlestone all too often gave the ball away.

Aluko again looks awsome and think he could have come on a bit earlier. Like others have mentioned, I think Hudd needs to wake up as gave the ball away a lot last night (although his first touches are still pretty fab!). We were outplayed and the better team won. No panic yet though.

Aluko was in his kit at the touch line ready to come on for a few minutes up until their corner, obviously you don't make a sub when you're defending a set piece, but then they scored and Aluko was told to go and sit down again, and not brought on for another 5 or 10 minutes. Baffling.

Tough to say but not one non defensive player deserves better than a 5/10. I think Davies ran further with the ball at his feet than anyone infront of him.

    2/ Harper

    3/ Macca

Southampton played a blinder. Their work rate was exceptional, they didn't give anyone a second on the ball, that's why our defence kept hoofing it.

A word on Thud, when he first signed i couldn't believe we'd got him, £5m ? get to ****, he's world class ect.

I'm now starting to wonder if he's been found out, and needs time on the ball to operate ? I think this game would have suited Quinn more.

It seems that all of our defenders think we have paid a fortune for these two strikers so lets just hoof the ball to them as soon as poss. Our midfield hardly saw the ball, when they did they forgot what to do.

He just didn't get the ball enough, the big hoof up to Long and Yella went pasts him, they have to get back to the passing game, and not expect the front 2 rely on scraps. Soton did a job on all the mid field, they pressed very much like Barca do, quality side.
