Meyler's a weird case because every game he plays, someone says pretty much what you just said but it's never a majority verdict. There's always someone who thinks he's been appalling. I don't really know what it was you saw that he did wrong, I thought he did alright. But it's interesting that someone always thinks he's played ****. He brought a few balls down nicely and knocked some on to Long, balls that he wasn't the favourite to get to and which he shouldn't really have won but he did alright with them. He did bugger that chance though.
While i wouldnt put him in my top 3, the lad worked his nuts off and his performance may have summat to do with playing against the best young left back in the country, who really was excellent
I voted Meyler as my MOTM against Spuds and thought he was good against Sunderland so can see when he plays well and give him due credit when deserved. Tonight was as bad a performance as I've seen this season from a City player. His passing and energy levels were shocking. IMO.
The problem with Meyler is that he always looks so ****ing clumsy even though he usually puts in a good shift. The problem is that when Hudd's off-form (as he is at the moment), we can't pass or hold the ball to save our life. It's pointless having Livermore and Meyler just to stick the foot in.
I thought Livermore was very poor tonight. Him, Meyler and Huddlestone all allowed themselves to be pushed right back into just in front of the defence and even when we broke to counter none of them joined in which is what Livs has been brilliant at this season.
How anyone can accuse Huddlestone tonight is beyond me. He never stood a chance, we just lumped the ball over the midfield time and time again. This only changed when Aluko came on. Also, how can Livermore make it into the top three? He also barely touched the ball due to hopeless hoofball from the back four and keeper.
I'm surprised McShane hasn't got in more people's selections, those fantastic 2 or 3 tackles in the first 5 minutes were better than much of what anyone else did. Elmo had a good game too worth noting.
Saw only the first half on a poor internet connection. However for all those that are knocking Bruce Sky had him as Citys best player with an 8. Thought before the game that expectations were too high after the win on Saturday. Cant gauge too much when the win was against 10 men.
I gave Brucie MOTM for not picking his lad against Spurs and Sunlan and we played well and got 2 great results - so why did he have to bring him back. - all he does is hoof it, slice I, he's constantly out of position and I can't believe any of the defence hav any confidence in what he's going to do next- what the hell has happpened to Faye plus massive mistake selling Hobbs - Meyler Fig and Livermore were all **** at passing and Boyd doesn't do getting stuck in - Harper Davies and Long/ Elmo
