Wycombe now odds on for relegation. If we need 55 points for safety that's 24 points from 16 games (ie 1.5 points a game). Did I see somewhere we were currently averaging 2 points a month? Since 19th October we have had 18 League matches resulting in one win, 9 draws and 9 defeats; an average of 0.667 points per match. Being realistic, we are doomed; unless we are lucky enough for 2 other teams to be even worse than us. Get praying folks
The first half was a continuation of the Accrington game with a complete lack of goalmouth action, until Lewis did a Paul Scholes impression and banged one in from the edge of the box right on half-time. The goal boosted confidence and in the second half Blues created a couple of decent chances, had spells of pressure and actually lokked like they might score again. However, Fleetwood are a big side, especially Parkin, and always looked a threat at set plays and the equalizer was probably against the run of play but not out of the blue. FTFC then had a great channce to win at right at the end but put a header over. With Torquay losing (albeit to Northampton) it was important to throw all the points away. Styche did well after coming on for Morgan, deserving his international call-up, for Gibralter, despite a Bendtner style hair-cut. Although goalscoring is a struggle Blues are not getting thumped (Wimbledon aside), and while the home form is awful (1st goal since Dec 14th last night) the away form is as good as some of those at the top end of the table. Things can turn very quickly - see West Ham. The last 4 matches, including games against Bristol, Torquay and the Cobblers are looking huge.
Problem is we can't beat teams around us,come to think of it we can't beat anyone ans a new man is neede bye bye Ainsworth who has the worst managerial record in the football league right now! How many other teams would keep their manager with his record? The gutless trust will take us down.
looking at the fixtures, 3 of the last 4 matchs of the season are against teams around us. that could be absolutely huge! another positive, as Bicester points out, we are not getting battered so we have a stronger goal difference than most other teams around
