I can find reasons to support a case for either player. Soldado can't score from open-play, but his penalties are very assured and have been important for us. Ozil had a flying start to the season, but now he's a massive part of Arsenal's problems and is likely to play a major part in their spectacular bottle-job. Is each as bad as the other? For me, the biggest failure is Ozil, simply because he cost £14 million more than Soldado. Ouch!
Soldado's lack of form is down to himself and struggling to adapt, Ozil's problems stem from Wenger and his insistence on playing him into the ground. When 'Arry got VDV he didn't piss around trying to get him to be some all action player that drops out wide and into midfield loads, he took a great player and let him loose to do what he does best. Wenger assumes he knows best and can change Ozil.
Exactly! And Ozil will make it a point not to change. No wonder there have been fights on the Arsenal training ground. It must be hell in that dressing room, at the moment.
I don't know to what you are inferring, my friend. "Fishing with bait" is akin to the crime of "going equipped to wum," and as everyone here will know that simply is not my style.
Difficult to call HAIG. I think Soldado has found the Prem a little difficult, he's lost a bit of confidence and as a consequence, is trying too hard and rushing things. On the other hand, WeaZil is now looking at the world cup. As long as he puts in a decent shift in the CL matches that should secure his place in the Germany squad, so relegation to the bench for the premier league matches is probably a bit of a bonus. Let's face it, I doubt if he would risk an injury this side of the big tournament. I still think Soldado will come good, but probably in his second season. When WeaZil gets back from the world cup he will need a rest.
AVB persisted with Robby for too long in his ****, narrow, inverted winger system that didn't really suit him, when a player is clearly struggling with form there is a point when keeping him out there in the hope it'll come good has to stop, and the Portuguese overstepped that by miles imo. He's had a bit of time out of the limelight and to regroup, so timingwise, a run in the Europa could be just what he needs. I'm not interested in Ozil....playing **** is he?....good.
Completely agree. If we'd played to his strengths and he had got a few goals early on then I think we might be looking at a completely different player now.
Ozil will be the biggest riches to rags story in the history of football at this rate. I still have more faith in Goldado than I have had at various points with: Defoe, Ade, Bent, Pav, Crouch, Mido, Postiga, Rebrov, Iversen etc. At least he gets in the right positions.
Ozil has scored a few, has plenty of assists even though he hasnt been on top form. Soldado is to old to learn a new league and was a bad buy
