I read he has taken a break from his loan so that he may return at the back end of the fixture list, I assumed he was only permitted to play x amount of games?

Could be wrong, but I was under the impression he'd signed a contract that begins at the end of the season? Ergo, this break in the loan is just our way of potentially having him around should we somehow miraculously make the play-offs?

It wasn't Stewart who took the decision, it was Leeds.

I know mate, I believe he is only allowed to be with us for 93 days so if he goes back now and misses the only other game we have this month Boro then that will take us to the 1st April - He was due to go back after the Blackpool game, assuming he went back on Sunday that gives us an extra 18 days if he were to come back on the 1st April. That would take us to the last but one game, I would assume if we are going to take him back it might be after QPR leaving him with us until the end.

All a bit strange as I too thought a contract was in place ready for the end of the season, I hope not as I don't believe he is good enough.

I understand now, however I would suggest that the management have not been impressed with the lad, so will be very unlikely to bring him back, unless we really need to. Maybe, just maybe our new owner will bring in a former player who would make almost all the Leeds supporters happy, thus Stewart is surplus to requirements.

Perhaps it's simpler than that - perhaps he asked to be paid! <whistle>

Given that we're not favourite for auto promotion, releasing him for a week or so to ensure he's still around for the play offs seems a good plan to me.

If he's so good, surely make more sense to use him to try get us into the playoffs. Of course, maybe he's not that good

I wouldn't read anything into it. It will have already been agreed when the loan was done that he'd come back at some point to break the loan up and maximise his availability for you. I'm not going to retype it all or copy and paste it all, but here's a link to when he first joined you saying how it's more common than you'd think:

Of course by reporting it the way they have the media have managed to get a signing story last month, a leaving story now, and a rejoining story in a couple of weeks.

We did the same last year with Harry Kane

Your only allowed to loan him for 93 days so effectively you send him back and resign him again so you make the most of the 93 days
