I'm surprised nobody has contemplated shifting Aluko to RM with Elmo as RB. I know Elmo isn't the greatest but he's a damn sight better than McShane in that position

Aluko isn't fit to start mate, otherwise that's what I'd do as well.

I'd rather have Elmo at RB than play both Bruce and McShane at the same time.

Also, would play Brady in LWB if we played a 352.

Only in as much as IF we can win and get to 30 points it will increase the gap between us and the bottom 3. Dont expect to see Wba and Fulham gain any points this week and Cardiif v. Villa should end in a draw. imo.

Yes. A point would not be bad either. But i just dont think that Southampton are the force they were a while back.
Am expecting a good open game though.

Yes. Steve Bruce says 2 weeks. Needs rest.

Not bad by your standards Erik.

I would agree with your selection other than Figueroa on the left side of the back 3 and Brady as the LWB.

I would also pack the bench with attack minded players. Quinn - Boyd - Koren - Sagbo - Fryatt along with Jakupovic and Bruce.

No, he isn't; it would be a waste of a player.

Crashes on both sides of A63 and ****ing long tail backs on Humber Bridge hope its not a delayed kick off.

    I'm sticking 4-4-2
    Harps
    Elmo Davies Macca Figgy
    Meyler Hudd Jake Boyd
    J-Lo

On no account will SB play Brady as a wing back in a 3-5-2.

I'd go with that starting line up. Brady (for Boyd) and Aluko (for Meyler) after 65 if we have a lead.

I expect that team possibly with Brady in for Boyd. Meyler played well against Sunderland so I don't think Bruce will want to drop him and it would give us extra cover for Elmo's poor defensive ability.

Remember lads we win tonight and if Villa beat Cardiff and Chelsea beat WBA we go 7 points clear of the bottom 3!!! Its on.

It should be a 442 with Elmo shifting to right back. We then have options for the two wide midfield positions from the following:

Brady (May well start after the weekend rest)
    Boyd
Meyler (Could well play wide right to cover Elmo)
Koren (Only really useful 'in the hole' now so ideally not played out wide)
Aluko (Doubt he'd start before more match fitness)
Livermore (Might be better out wide than Meyler with more pace/touch but will most likely stay central)
Quinn (Not on the bench last time, probably lowest in the pecking order now)

Most of those are left footers but someone like Boyd could still play on the right.
