Almost as classless as your derisory offer for Everton's captain in January. Dont let the door hit you on the way out...

Would that be Everton's 34-year-old Captain, who had about 18 months left on his contract?
Hmm, I wonder why we put in a negligible bid for him?
You do struggle with these tough ones, don't you?

    End??

Weird that I've yet to find out why you have a Chelsea membership, the link for the City bid for Modric and your views on potentially being stratford's second club.

Or maybe you just talk a lot of ****.

    END

I can understand where you're coming from but we're not a top level club yet and if the guy wants to go elsewhere I feel we should let him for good money, I support and I love Spurs but as a fan I think we need to be realistic about where we are and where we are trying to get. We won't be a top level club until we get our stadium situation sorted, resolving that is going to take a good few years yet, when Modric will be hitting the latter stages of his career. Our finances are dictated by the stadium issue and we don't have a rich benefactor bankrolling players of the same quality and class as Modric and Bale have reached, they got there while at our club so we need to be looking at prospects. We have the potential to be a top level club but until we can offer the wages and the finances to match we can't compete by outspending them but by using our money smartly.

The short term view is that yes we'd weaken ourselves by selling but what if we got two or three young guys in who could push to about the same level he's at? It's about wise investment. I agree on the selling of fringe players first but problem is Levy is holding out for too much money and they're hard to shift for that very reason.

The thread is about a chelsea bid for Modric, a spurs player. You figure it out. Surely a chelsea fan's input is relevant to the debate? I state again, you started the mudslinging. Does that cover your inferiority complex?

You'd know, you've been dodging bullets all day. Least you wasted everyones time on the more than a few weeks gem though.

If you could get a season ticket at chelsea, you would have had to have been a member last year. Were you a member at chelsea last year? No, talking bollocks again I assume.

The attempt to get out of talking more **** re the city bid was an admirable attempt, but merely that.

Stratford is not a moot point. You attack chelsea for their location yet look what your club is (rather embarrassingly) trying to do. Startford Hotspur has a lovely ring to it though.

As not606 was launched this year, I didn't have a user name in 2004. Brilliant witticism though. I didn't realise this board was just limited to fans of north London's 2nd biggest club...sorry.

Just to clarify, are you still ignoring all the posts where you were proved wrong?
    Yes?
    Ok, thanks for that.

Well, at least Burberry will be eternally grateful to the Chavs. The reasons these pests spend so much time on our board are various. They are insecure and feel that they must constantly prove their "superiority" by attempting to mock what they perceive as "smaller" teams. Their own board is full of idiots who are as boring as they are, and some of them just like being abused. What you should always remember, however is, that no matter what they say, they take Spurs seriously as rivals. That's why they come wumming on here. They don't go and Wum on, for instance,on Bllackburn's board, as they don't see them as serious rivals.

The stratford hotspur comment was more in jest, of course you would still be called Tottenham, but you wouldn't be in Totenham would you. And would it be fair to say you would be a damn sight further away from Tottenham than we are to Chelsea making your name seem just a wee bit silly, no?

I came on this board to talk about Modric and the bid we apparently made. If we made a bid for someone else's best player, I would have been discussing it on their board as well. Problem is, some Spurs fans have such a complex about us that you cant have a reasoned debate without 'chavs' 'glory hunters' 'fulhams 2nd team' etc being thrown around.

You are rivals...like QPR are rivals.

To be honest though, little Lucy would fit into any manager's plans. The idea that Chelsea will be without a manager at the start of the season has about as much credibility as Ensil's arguments.

I agree, he decides who they sign and demands the manager plays that person even though the manager would rather pick someone else.

RA telling Ancelotti who to pick in the team <doh>

Carlo Ancelotti is a top top manager and I for one can't wait to see him become Spurs manager next summer.

You make it sound like he's already lined up :D

I'd take him as our next manager without hesitation, should Harry jump ship for the England job but part of me keeps saying he wouldn't join us and will head back to a top club in Italy instead.
