    Good evening chaps.

I reckon we're quite dangerous now (although i'm the danger) and could nick it 2 - 1.

You dicked us at your place and think Brucie will want to make sure that won't happen again.

Liam Rosenior is remarkably good at marking good wide men so might snuff out any danger down your left. I think we'll sit very deep and hoof angle balls into space for Long to run onto.

Rosie is out injured mate, which I think causes us a huge problem. Elmo is a defensive liability at RB and I hope to god we don't play McShane there.

Anyway, good evening boys I am definitely looking forward to this one. Love a good night game although it is pretty ridiculous from the league to put you so far away on a week day. I am expecting a good game as both teams like to play football. I like the way Saints do things with youth and home grown talent passing the ball around and driving towards goal.

We have been playing good stuff for a couple of years now, just never had a strike force to finish what we create. Thankfully that now seems to have changed. Long has been exceptional for us in the games that he's played, he chases down and harries the defence as well as anyone but he also has a great first touch and is an instinctive finisher. Jelavic seems to be a very good partner to Long and is also a grafter, with top first-touch finishing. Huddlestone has been off the pace recently but looked to get better in the Sunderland game, if he gets a foothold in the game he can control everything in the middle of the park so I imagine you might have someone targeting him to reduce how much time he gets on the ball. Aluko being back is huge for us even if he doesn't start. I don't know if you saw much of him when we were in the Championship but when fit he was the best in the league (ahead of Ince/Zaha etc.). When he came on at the weekend he looked like he'd never been away and could make a real impact from the bench tomorrow. Brady coming back towards fitness will also be huge for getting us back to where we started the season as he is another creative influence we have lacked in the games that we have lost recently.

Some of you may have seen the game at St Mary's and get the impression that we are a fairly poor side but that was by far and away our worst defensive performance this season, and that combined with one of your best performances didn't end well for us. Curtis Davies had his one poor game of the season that day and unfortunately it was in front of Roy, but as you will probably gather from chanting tomorrow most of us feel that he is worthy of a call up having been our player of the season so far in the 6th best defence in the league (1 more goal conceded than you).

I'm going for a 2-2 prediction as I think our defence will be weakened quite a lot by the loss of our only real RB against your very strong left side but it should be an open game and I'm hoping our two new boys will stretch your back line to get us some goals as well. Good luck after tomorrow and I hope you finish above the horrible cheating ****s that are Manchester United <ok>

It's nice that we can do that and not have to worry too much.

I don't think many of us get that impression. Some might, but I get the distinct feeling that we see you as a team a little like us - underestimated on a regular basis. After the season started you've hardly been mentioned in the "who goes down" thread on here.

Over the years I have learned to respect and to like Steve Bruce and I hope you guys do very well.

You have done the right things in the transfer window and I was pleased to see you give Poyet's thugs a spanking also you have done us a real favour in getting Wes Brown suspended for our Cup game against them.

I too like evening games but Hull is just a tad too far for the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov to drive mid week so I shall be sat by the wireless for this one.

We're not desperate for the points but we will give you a good game I hope.

In that case, if you'd like to give us a good game and the points, we'd be most grateful. <ok>

I don't see us getting beaten but I do see Hull scoring two or three. That would make it a 2-2 or a 3-3 then!

Yes I think a score draw is highly likely. Can't see either side keeping clean sheet.

Huddlestone was a spectator in our home game, our high-energy midfield makes things very difficult for him and I don't expect that to change this time. The pace of Long in behind will be a danger as we look quite vulnerable to long balls with our high defensive line and lack of pace in central defence, as Odemwingie's goal on Saturday showed.

In the same way they made Charlie Adam look like a spectator on Saturday? I hope not.

    For me:

    Boruc

    Chambers Fonte Yoshida Shaw

    Wanyama Schneiderlin

    Ward-Prowse Lallana Rodriguez

    Lambert

Give Steve Davis, Corky and Clyne a rest, whilst giving the team two fresh nippers in Chambers and Ward-Prowse, and giving Victor a run out again. We put a lot of energy into that game at the weekend, so to freshen things up with a couple of changes would be wise.
