While I have been a City passholder for 40 years & already attend a few Ferriby games when getting to a City away game isn't possible
I'm not Anti-Allam, I'm just anti-name change & I support Hull City AFC not some daft Hull franchise !!
But Allam has made it clear the only thing he will accept as proof you are against the change is to not buy a ticket
So what do you suggest to attract more fans? Buy some decent forwards...oh that's been done! Maybe change the name to say...? well it's a difficult one isn't it. Just a shame that no one in City's History has ever invested as much and got as much abuse for it. For as much as the Needlers put into the Tigers, and it was a great sum over the years, they never managed to achieve 'the impossible'. Like I've said in previous posts, It's a great shame that we all can't seem to get on and support Hull,City, Tigers the black and amber army!!
I don't think they could claim that North Ferriby Villagers would attract overseas investment, and it's not so much "the family" as speaking to his Ehab at a recent game at Church Road I get the impression he's not exactly pro name change
The Allams have had nothing but support from the fans. CTWD want to work with them, and believe they are a great job (other than this small misdemeanour). The Yes group continue to twist CTWD's motives to make it out like they're attacking Mr Allam all the time. It's simply not true. If this name change has been brought about because a sponsor wants to change the club before investing, i'm sorry, i'm not going anymore. That's simply turning us into a franchise & they don't have City at heart if that's their motives.
Might help to sell the seats if the club actually advertised the fact. Also a little help from the local media would help. Contrast the way Radio Rugby Humberside promoted the 'massive all-Hull rl friendly' with trailers on the hour every hour for a week beforehand and the way we had the morning presenters today giggling about Steve Bruces pre-Southampton interview. Listen and watch the way the 'super league' opening home games will be plugged locally this week-end and compare that to the very low profile tonights Premeirship match has received.
My point was more about not pissing off the existing ones, which is self evidently what's happened. Don't tell fans they can die when they want, don't accuse people who disagree with you of being hooligans, don't offer to refund their season tickets just because they disagree with you and make sure every seat is full at the KC for every game, by giving the last of them to schools if necessary.
Apparently it's a bookies and nobody changes their club name just to please a temporary shirt sponsor.
Why plastics? I have supported City for years, first game in 1957, ans travel up from Pompey. I have a season ticket and have done for many years, but I feel the same as these lads. It is probable hat I wont renew if the name change goes ahead. I support HULL CITY, NOT HULL TIGERS, make whte you like of that, but im not platici can assure you.
My frustration with the whole thing is that its divided loyal fans and been a major distraction to all. With no valid evidence of any likely growth in income from the name change, just a single paper that CTWD have proved in their FA submission is irrelevant anyway as the author is quoted as such. I respect all views if founded on facts and research. many just use the name change argument to argue and WUM. Back to the topic I know several who also say they wont renew but will just go to away games. I'm still hopeful the FA will grow a backbone and reject the name change proposal. Until then we will all do what we do best , get behind the team.
What's the logic in that? Is it because the away game ticket money goes to the opposition team? I can understand those who want to give up their tickets if the name changes (as it's based on the principle of the name change) but where's the sense in only attending away games if the team name changes (again, I can understand those who currently only attend aways due to the atmosphere)? This is not a dig; I'm merely curious as to the reasoning.
Not sure to be honest. I think its to follow the team but making the point that Dr Allams daft idea will reduce income locally, and they wont support him financially. Similar to those stating they would not buy merchandise I guess. The sooner the FA give an indication on what there views are the better. At present its all "if,buts and maybes" . Its doing my head in to be honest!
