Fair play Swanselona you are kicking arse When you break it down you see the clear picture. It's not as simple as "we've only won 1 in 10!".
That depends on what time period you're talking about. Over the last 3 matches it's Champions League form. Over last 10 or more it's relegation form. My original comment was before Saturday's match. So Laudrup's sacking has helped us. But it's not just the results but our lack of passion. We looked like we'd given up, especially against WHU. And then ethe manager ****s off on holiday for a few days. LOL.
As I have said previously, our results over last 10 /11 games were not worrying (although admitedly dissapointing) , and apart from dropping points at west ham, my predictions made at the start of the season, based on nothing more than targeting 3 points at home, and 1 point away excluding usual top 7 suspects have been pretty close. We are only 2 points below my prediction, and if we get 3 points at stoke (difficult I know !) we are back on track for 48 points !!!!!!! thats top 10 finish. Not siding with anyone on this post though, as even though my analysis shows we were doing ok under Laudrup and would have been ok at end of the season, I do feel there is more to this than just results, and in my opinion the change of management AND the board having the 'balls' to give the job to Monk could well be the blessing to bring the wing play and assertive play without foresaking the short / sharp one touch triangles and feel good factor back to the fans: Because , let's be honest, watching our beloved team has not been as enjoyable for the last 10 months as it has previously. <click on picture to see my analysis>
It's all supposition, stats only tell part of the story, how about the stats explaining why our midfield had been so useless under Laudrup? What do the stats say about Britton being Benched so often? What do the stats say about our hopeless inability to find the back of the net under Laudrup? What do the stats say about our players body language on the pitch under Laudrup? What do the stats say about Laudrup's motivational skills? What do the stats say about Ki in Sunderland? What do the stats say about Laudrup not liking the Rain in Wales? What do the stats say about Laudrup disappearing from the training ground? Stuff your bloody stats where the sun don't shine, the only stats I'm interested in is Winning, and Laudrup couldn't do enough of that for sure, well done Huw Jenkins, now theres a stat you can count on!..................
So if Monk was to lose the next 3, will you be the first to call for his head? After all, winning is all that matters right
How many games at the end of last season did we give Laudrup? How many games have we given him this season? 10, 11, you like losing do you? Now there was me thinking football was all about winning, but no how wrong I was it's all about stats, and having a high profile manager!................
Let's hope our first 5 games next season are'nt : Man City , Arsenal, Chelsea , Tottenham , Liverpool...!! as there will be calls for heads to roll as it's all about winning, and not about putting fixtures into perspective... PS I am not actually against getting rid of laudrup.. I think it is for the good and am really pleased the board went for Monk and not appointed outside. I think he had to go because of the style of football we were playing and non match day issues such as training etc. ...I just don't agree with the argument that laudrup had to go because of the results, as the stats (I know you hate that word !) show that our results were better comparitively than most teams (outside of top seven) WHEN you consider the fixture list.
Or do you mean this season as we sit in 10th in the league , 5th round of the FA and 2nd round of Europa , lol
There is only one stat im concerned about is....Laudrup = very little confidence in getting enough points too Monk = who has given everyone from players to fans much more confidence of getting enough points....
