Good post fella <ok>

Im sure I heard somewhere that a few local businesses havent been paid either. Full report below

t has emerged tonight that Massimo Cellino, apparent new owner of Leeds United, paid £140,000 to Crewe this past week to cover some of Luke Murphy’s transfer fee.

Murphy, Leeds’s first £1 million player in eight years, was potentially the subject of an embargo from Crewe to stop him playing had the money not come through.

Criticism of Cellino has been fierce, not least his treatment of Brian McDermott, but the situation at Elland Road has clearly reached a ridiculous level of farce. With increasing debts being reported by the media, Leeds supposedly losing £650,000 per month and severe wage crises taking place, Cellino’s willingness to spend to cover costs is the only thing keeping the club on an even keel.

Questions abound over GFH’s running of the club, given the debt accrued over the last year. Word is emanating that as far back as April last year, GFH were forced to turn to former owner Ken Bates for financial help, a staggering thought. Since then, David Haigh himself has covered gaps in the budget, as has Enterprise Insurance owner Andrew Flowers, who has since issued the club with a winding up petition to recover moneys owed.

In another example of the farce at Elland Road, erstwhile owners GFH Capital have disappeared off the face of the earth, now subsumed by Gulf Finance House itself.

    Wow!!

If all of these reports are true, no reason to doubt them, the place is really crumbling faster than a house built of quicksand in an earthquake on a California beach!

Don't worry Josh will be along in a bit to say the financial troubles are all just rumour and there is no truth to it.

I thought he might remind us that it had nothing to do with Ken Bates. <whistle>

Hey, at least GFH got Bates off our hands!

Except for the loan they took out - just could not make it up!

Considering the manner in which Bates was kicked completely out and his willingness to loan £1m I dread to know what interest he got on that.

Am I the only one to notice our little recent good run coincided with Murphy coming back into the team.

He does have something about him and say what you like, but it's a different ball game playing in the Championship where you have to compete 100% every week compared to League 1 where I am sure you can coast through some games against the bottom teams.

Let's see what he can do in the remaining games if he gets a run.

I've said before that there is a bit of a jump from playing for Crew in front of a few thousand to playing for Leeds United in front of 20 to 30k. What also didn't help was changes in formation and a less than settled style. If Brian continues with 442, Murphy has the potential to fill one of the two CM slots. There is now competiotn for places. The two wingers are slowly but setting about their task. So Murphy will now show why we paid £1m for him how w might recoup some of that money next season as we either survive in the PL or push towards an auto promotion spot, depending on how this season goes.

Am I the only one to notice that you score more goals per game without BMcD in charge.

yes you are, as it ain't true

it was his team that won v Huddersfield, trained by him, selected by him, ste up by him and playing to his instructions. If not being in the dugout would guarantee us 5 goals a game I am sure he'd go for it - somehow I doubt it would work <facepalm>
