Ozil is quality but Wenger is not getting the best out of him

Ozil is a quality player who is lazy and will not get you back into a game if you are losing. Wenger is not the right man to change that. Arsenal can't take the big games. With his current attitude to overall team play he wouldn't start here unless he changed. Would Jose be the right man? Of course. Will he get the chance again in England? No. I'm not envious of Arsenal because I have seen this coming the whole season. It's going to be a messy few months for Arsenal.

    Precisely.

We have no runners. Ozil and Cazorla together makes no sense, especially when you have Giroud up front. You need a couple of players who'll get in behind defences who Ozil can pick out. When Walcott was there there was a ray of hope, but even then that's only one player who Ozil can find.

We really need someone quick on both sides... or failing that one quick winger and a quick striker too.

Ozil, Walcott, Cazorla and Suarez would be deadly.

Ozil, Walcott, Reus and Giroud would be deadly.

Ozil, Walcott, Reus and Suarez would be deadliest.

Unfortunately, the reality of Ozil, Cazorla, Ox/Pod and Giroud is good enough to beat most, but too flaccid to beat the best.

Hmmm maybe. I agree Wenger is not the right man to change that but to say Ozil wouldn't get into our team is debateable. Mourinho our boss didn't mind using him over at Real if thats our barometer of whether Jose will use him

Big difference in Spain though. You can have far more luxury players over there than over here.

Sounds like half the Chelsea team. Give Ozil a break. It's his first season , Thierry Henry was useless his whole first season as was Lampard for us. Ozil is a top, top player.

The unkind elements of the German press have a nickname for Nemo going missing in big games when they can't find him

What are you talking about? All the players have been fantastic and working really hard to adjust to Jose's style.
Shame some fans can't do the same.

Sometimes you engage your keyboard before your logic. We have an ongoing, well known trait of playing big games really well and then playing poorly against "easy" teams. We did exactly that again in the past week.
Going missing in "easy" games was the specific criticism of Ozil, and exactly what Chelsea did last game.
How 'fantastic' the players have been and how "hard they are working" is missing the point I was making.
As is putting our collective "faith " in Jose . Jose himself said last game the players were "too comfortable" and "went to sleep". I have every faith that Jose was dead right.
Apart from all that, my comment about "half the Chelsea team " going missing last game also seems to have been missed by Drogs as well !!! It was meant to be that increasingly rare commodity on these boards, irony.
Here's some more. I expect all those missing last game will turn up with bells on come Saturday. There won't be many feeling comfortable or going to sleep I suspect.

So we played badly against 'easy' Newcastle when we beat them three nil after the City game <doh>

Jose said after the WBA game was that we

    1. Were not clinical enough to kill the game off
    2. We lacked personality in the last 20 (ie Terry, who you said was past it and too slow to play with Cahill) and played too deep

Fact is, we don't have a Suarez or Aguero to destroy 'easy' teams.
So we may not win every game like Brazil 70 this season

Agreed we went to sleep in last 20. WBA fully deserved a point.

We will not kill teams off until we get two new strikers

Exactly. The whingeing and knee jerk reaction to a draw is hysterical, and ridiculous.

Driven by tabloids and sky sports I guess

Team is absolutely brilliant except for 2 strikers, a midfield controller, a left back, 2 more CDs and next season, another goalkeeper. With all of the above we will then be closer to Man City who have 2 top players for every position, except goalkeeper.
That's what Jose is aiming for, and what we are in the process of doing.

The same ManC we've taken 6 points from and at worst will be level on points with?

Don't think there has been any "hysterical knee jerk reactions to a draw", only uber criticism of perfectly reasonable questions. People are simply expressing opinions as to why we still lift for big games and too often drop for easier games. Seems like a fair question to me since it's been happening for several years.

It happens to all teams, it's called football. now you know the answer maybe you'll stop asking the question.
