we could say the same of all sports i guess.

I just have to wonder now..... Utd have a dead duck in charge, they've not had to sack anyone in their clubs professional memory (as in the last guy was ron atkinson and he was gone so long ago all have retried.

The MISTAKE LFC board made was not getting shut of souness fast enough. nobody could have foreseen how bad he did I think but you have to react. If utd leave moyes in charge over summer then sack him say 3 months into next season it'll be a huge error.

For me moyes should be a dead man walking right up to May then sacked with one game to go or something and a new guy put in as early as possible. I'd be lining him up already. I just don't see Klopp who is the only candidate that comes to mind thats would come... anchelotti maybe? I think utd are in a dire situation that might or might not get better for next season in terms of europe but i just really think they need to cut their losses asap.

Oh and spurs are on about certain guys taking over from sherwood if they FAIL to get CL. They are deluded. if they fail to get CL sherwood is all they rate and they must know that.

finally... hilarious goal yesterday, awful game really but everton basically place the ball for spurs to take the free then turn their backs and let adebayor score... and who did it... barry, the donkey who should at least know better... god it was a poor game. everton without lukaku are not looking that good. mirallas up top wastes his potential as a raider from wide.

Very true. I realised after I wrote it that it seemed a bit daft talking about them defending well given their record. I was just responding to the ongoing discussion about how they'd resisted Utd for so long.

I thought Fulham's tactics were pretty rank, tbh. If you let a team throw everything at you like that they're bound to get through eventually.
Of course, we all love laughing at Utd dropping points, but in reality, Fulham getting that equaliser in the dying seconds was a fluke, only made funnier given how many times Utd have done the same thing.
We don't play the way Utd did, and so we should get through, I'm just a bit wary of how we've previously run out of ideas when faced with an 11 man defence.

Will Man Utd's record of 63 missed crosses in a game ever be beaten?

Mass debate about when Moyes will be sacked on the Utd board (from which I've now been banned for 18 months for pointing out that Rio was done by the FA for the same FA rule E3(2) as suarez ) so I'll add my penny's worth here. Surely - hopefully - they won't sack him until they're dumped out of the CL? If I was them I'd be praying for a Chelsea 2012 scenario, however unlikely that appears?

The United board is a complete ghost town! I left a comment suggesting that whilst they are focusing on Moyes the are letting the players off ho are not performing on the pitch. Let's see how that goes down.

I can see newcastle taking points off SPurs

Can see (or is it hope <laugh>) maybe something suprising in the City and Chelsea games. WBA are good at home and Sunderland will go there with nothing to lose

Crystal Palace are in really good form under Pulis too so that's certainly no banker for Everton.

Another blinkered attack on Souness. Show me any other manager of the time who faced the same pressures and problems within the club who could have done a better job - you can't!

I can see all those rivals dropping points, but won't be too greedy and so will permit Man City to win <magic>

Kozma, stewart, dicks... need i really say more. Sorry but nobody though when he was hired that it'd be much else that a rebuild job given the age profiles but i can indeed point to a manager who had pressures at that time. ferguson for one.... one good singing turned a stale hughe mcclair attack onto a title winner. in 1990 he could well have been sacked.

Sorry but souness did some ridiculous things and my point was our club made a mistake he was not working but they failed to nip it in the bud. In fact as a young kid watching at the time how he lasted so long while lower league clubs trashed us time and again.. i just think we left it go way too long.

souness would not have gotten it right with more time... IMO

At this point I don't think it will help much if United give Moyes the push before the summer.

Keep the dignity and professionalism they've shown in sticking with him this long and boot him in the summer.

That said. I'm not convinced he wouldn't be able to get top 4 next year. If he can do it with Everton...

Think the Fulham result really makes Utd having top 4 ambitions unlikely now... still possible of course.

Not much between Everton and Spurs as far as who is our biggest threat; Spurs winning, perhaps tips the balance in their favour.

We're in a good position now... although I expect the same slump against Fulham we have after every thrashing of an opposition... and our rivals will puck up points.

Table could be close again by the weekend.
