Fail at it again. If news of the the bid comes from a more credible rag I'll start a thread. The bid is a piss take if true.

Stoke City are launching a £10million bid for Sunderland pair Steven Fletcher and Lee Cattermole.
Sunderland on Monday completed the £3million signing of Argentina international forward Ignacio Scocco from Internacional and recalled Connor Wickham from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday as manager Gus Poyet braced himself for bids ahead of Wednesday's game, coincidentally with Stoke.

Poyet is reluctant to lose Fletcher unless he can bring in a replacement but is willing to consider offers for Cattermole, 25, as he tries to sign Valencia's Ever Banega and Liam Bridcutt from Brighton. Will Buckley is another possibility at Brighton.
Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Wickham too but Poyet may keep hold of the England U21 international until Friday.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has brought in Peter Odemwingie as part of the Kenwyne Jones swap with Cardiff but wants Fletcher who he considers a more recognised finisher after seeing a deal for Emmanuel Riviere of Monaco stall.

Norwich have an interest in Stoke midfielder Glenn Whelan which may move on should Cattermole arrive.
Real Betis, meanwhile, have made an enquiry for Sunderland midfielder Alfred N'Diaye, who is on loan at Turkish club Eskisehirspor.

The future of Emanuele Giaccherini is in the Italian rumour mill on a daily basis and he's continually being linked with a move back home, because in Italy they were shocked that he moved from Juventus to Sunderland in the first place and can't seem to accept it yet.

Last week his agent Furio Valcareggi spoke to a radio station in Italy, picked up by TMW, and denied that his client is going to Fiorentina "Giaccherini will not move from Sunderland. He's fine in the Premier League where he is doing very well. There is no reason for him to want to go away."

The rumours continued and TMW did a later report explaining that Fiorentina were set to make another approach. They're not the only ones to show interest in the Italian international.

His agent has again spoken to radio in Italy about interest and this time brought up an offer from China "Emmanuel does not move from Sunderland, with a pair of victories the club can return to the fight for Europe, the rankings are close. Lippi wanted to take him with him to China, but the guy does not move from England. Giaccherini is also liked by Parma, Leonardi contacted me because Biabiany could leave Emilia. With the English club there's a contract and it's important that we respect it, despite numerous offers. Genoa also has tried to do move, but I repeat that the player remains in the Premier League."

His agent appears to be giving fuel to the rumours despite denying them, which may be planned. If Valcareggi stopped telling the Italian media about interest in his client every few days then the rumours may stop a little.

Sunderland would have to experience a major turn around to be considered challengers for Europe this season, perhaps Valcareggi needs to take a break from talking about transfer interest and look at the Premier League table.

Sunderland are keeping tabs on Wolfsburg striker Srdjan Lakic with a view to possibly bringing the player to the Stadium of Light in the summer.
The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt, is being sort by Serie A side Lazio but Black Cats manager Gus Poyet could yet make a move as a way of reinforcing his attacking options.

Lakic, who has played for Croatia Under-21s, joined the Bundesliga side in 2011 but struggled for first team appearances under both Felix Magath and Dieter Hecking. After a loan period in2012 to Hoffenheim Lakic then went to Eintracht where he has made 21 appearances since the start of the season and netted four times.

Sky Sports sources understand Fulham have made renewed bid for Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley.

The Cottagers had a £1million offer to their relegation rivals turned down for the 28-year-old full-back last week.

With the player's contract expiring at the end of the season, Black Cats boss Guy Poyet is keen to keep him with the promise of a new deal in the summer.

Bardsley looked like his time at the club was coming to an end when he was frozen out by previous boss Paolo Di Canio, but has now established himself as a key member of the side under the Uruguayan.

He scored against former club Manchester United as the Wearsiders booked their place in the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City.

Are we signing Ross McCormack as Catts replacement ......... is he better?

Cattermole hasn't contributed a single goal to the cause, is that acceptable for a modern midfield player?

Ross McCormack is a striker mate. One i'm not fussed about. Think he can play on the wing as well but don't quote me on that.
